Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Don't think it's a case of he can't get them but more of a case of waiting for a big fight to get paid and sail off into the sunset
Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
He's obviously holding out for one more fight....a PPV....before he retires.
Its just a case of if he gets it.

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Cause he is too usy shouting out anyine within sniffing distance if a title shot hopeing to get a crack at them, like haye,he hasnt earned a shot. Earn your way into a title shot dont talk your way
Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
he is always fighting the staff in his nursing home

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
He wants millions for his cash out and he can't get it
Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Probably realizes how vulnerable he is, and thus doesnt want to hurt his cash out chances by losing

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Because nobody dares to fight him, in his last match people had to ask people all the way in Argentina, while he's an American boxer and the fight happened in the UK.
Tyrone Spong has the same problem, he's regularly scheduled to fight, but every single time nobody dares to show up.

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Because anybody in the Top 40 beats him or has a good chance of beating him and he knows that.
He don't want no more tests. He wants a big check.

The bloke is 45 and hasn't fought anyone decent in 6 years, he isn't interested in earning a shot as its too risky, using social media is far less dangerous. Even at his best 16-20 years ago he lost fights to Darroll Wilson and Sedreck Fields.

Someone not fighting regularly and more importantly not fighting competitive competition, doesn't' get better in their mid 40s. Looking like a bodybuilder means nothing.asdfjkl wrote:He's better right now compared to back then actuallyControversial wrote:The bloke is 45 and hasn't fought anyone decent in 6 years, he isn't interested in earning a shot as its too risky, using social media is far less dangerous. I would have though he will be fighting someone for a WBA title in his next fight.

Briggs is just after the biggest pay cheques & that's it.mimmy123 wrote:Seems to be shouting Haye out all the time, but why soesnt he stay active?
If he was serious about being HW champion, he'd be fighting for chump change & working his way up the rankings, but that would be too risky & difficult.
Saying that, he is doing some good in that he's livening up the HW division.
This year has been the most pathetic for HW boxing for a long time.
I can only hope that '17 is better!

Briggs is the clown in boxing scene.
Problem....at beginning it was funny to disturb press mettings with his "let'sgo champ" shouts....now it gets boring.
Longer his beard grows, older his jokes.
A clown musst bring new things to laugh in his programm.
His time is over...of course in boxing you get also money when you figh bums, stay in buisness, but i can't see any chance for a second chance to be a real big name in Heavyweight.
I say thanks Shannon for good fights you gave us from 1992 - 2010

Everyone is scared of the Champ.
Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
They should make Chisora vs Briggs next, the winner can fight Joshua.
Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Or Whyte Vs Briggs, either would have a fun buildup and WHyte said he'd fight him before.Horse wrote:They should make Chisora vs Briggs next, the winner can fight Joshua.

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
If Briggs didn't shout "let's go champ" and follow people around, we would be talking about the one thing that matters, what's left of his boxing career, which is close to nothing. He's delusional about his future in boxing, but then so are a lot of ex champions in their forties.

No way that Whyte is fighting anyone but Chisora next. It's a headliner and will fill an arena on its own merits.BitPlayer wrote:Or Whyte Vs Briggs, either would have a fun buildup and WHyte said he'd fight him before.Horse wrote:They should make Chisora vs Briggs next, the winner can fight Joshua.

Re: Why cant Briggs get any regular fights?
Fight Sprott on an undercard.
Then Price
Then Chisora, with another entertaining build-up
Then Whyte
Do this over 12 months.
Only then will I even entertain him fighting a serious contender........
