There is no confirmed main man in the heavyweight division right now, far too many question marks and far too many contenders
Re: Round-By-Round - Anthony Joshua vs. Eric Molina - December 10th 2016
Fair point, but he hasn't yet. The crown has been divided now fury has retired. This is probably the best fight made so far and I'd make Joshua the number one if he beats Wlad.manchester-mexican wrote:sure did n who's to say Wlad wouldn't have avenged the Fury loss?TheDarkDestroyer wrote:Because Lewis went back and made him cry!manchester-mexican wrote:I don't mean a belt but his status as prob still the best HW despite his loss to Fury, Lewis lost to McCall but wouldn't regard McCall as better.

I think he will, think it's set up for to be the no 1, n then milk the fans with a lot of handpicked opponents, n further down then line hype up a unification fight with wilder for mega bucks in Vegas if all goes to planTheDarkDestroyer wrote:Fair point, but he hasn't yet. What about Parker.

I do too, 41 and seventeen months out and I think his style is good for Joshua.manchester-mexican wrote:I think he will, think it's set up for to be the no 1, n then milk the fans with a lot of handpicked opponents, n further down then line hype up a unification fight with wilder for mega bucks in Vegas if all goes to planTheDarkDestroyer wrote:Fair point, but he hasn't yet. I do think Joshua will likely win as Wlad is probably over the hill. But not because of their respective styles, I'd say the opposite is true
But I think a prime Wlad would have controlled Joshua at range with the jab. AJ doesn't have the fleetness of foot to get into range quickly, the half step back would have kept Wlad safe for the most part and he'd have been able to catch him coming in with the right as well as Joshua's head movement isn't great. And Wlad would also have utilaise a lot of mauling and wrestling to nullify Joshuas offensive threat.
AJ would always have been a live underdog with his power but I think stylistically, he'd have been custom made for prime Klitschko.
AJ vs prime Vitali? Now that would have been interesting

I don't think Wlad will be strong enough to grab and wrestle Joshua though. He's mostly had physical advantages in the past when he's grabbed and wrestled his way to victory, I don't think he has that here.davie wrote:I don't agree with that.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:I do too, 41 and seventeen months out and I think his style is good for Joshua.manchester-mexican wrote:I think he will, think it's set up for to be the no 1, n then milk the fans with a lot of handpicked opponents, n further down then line hype up a unification fight with wilder for mega bucks in Vegas if all goes to plan

I dunno. Wlad has always looked at his best against guys that had a significant reach disadvantaged to him- bar Wach who is slow as shit. He didn't look all that comfortable against Pulev before the latter decided he was gonna stand completely flat footed in front of Klitschko. He definietly had trouble with Pulev's jab.davie wrote:I don't agree with that.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:I do too, 41 and seventeen months out and I think his style is good for Joshua.manchester-mexican wrote:I think he will, think it's set up for to be the no 1, n then milk the fans with a lot of handpicked opponents, n further down then line hype up a unification fight with wilder for mega bucks in Vegas if all goes to plan

I definietly want to try and get tickets to Joshua-Klitschko. It's highly unlikely that I'll get the chance to see Klitschko in the flesh on these shores again otherwise. Despite his mauling tactics; I've always rated him as being a very good boxer who had quick feet for a big man.
Will I be able to get tickets in the current climate?! Probably fornicating not
