Every fckin round maximuscle or william hill ffs,im a die hard boxing fan so if i see mistakes boxers are making in the fight i wanna see advice the corner are giving them,im not some nugget who gets pissed out his brains while watching these big nights,im a fan of ALL of boxing from the training to the fight from the gym to the corner i wanna see whats happening and study it but sky arnt for the die hards their for the ppl with deep pockets well sky,my pockets are sewn at the top
watched the parker v ruiz fight on bocksnation in the morning (buncey having a go at peppa pig was worth the price of my subscription alone)
watched buglioni v burton and smith v blackledge on a stream as they were the only two fights i was interested in, bored to death by conception and logged off before aj's farce against molina. turns out whyte v chisora turned out to be good by all accounts but id had enough by then.
i love boxing, but paying 17 quid for that just gives hearn the excuse to keep putting on shit fights in main events.
oh, and then it was crawford v molina this morning, which was a great fight too.
No, I listened on 5live radio which was excellent and I will be doing this from now on, instead of fishing on a shite stream, you can really get a better feeling of what the atmosphere is like on radio great commentary.

It's subjective, we of all people should understand this. Whyte vs Chisora for example. I had Chisora winning by 2. The judges couldn't decide. The comontry couldn't and we can't on the Whyte vs Chisora thread. £17 for a great evenings boxing - value to me. The wife spent the day out shopping, this was my treat at less than a £20 note = value to me !.

Fair point - but the issue is that other sports are not subject to that model. Let's imagine you're a Chelsea obsessive fan. So you get 90 minutes of watching your devoted favourite team... so why aren't these fans charged £5-£10 PPV fee?

What is it with the people on here? We do pay for it through the option of having SKY SPORTS,Boxing doesnt cost the fraction of premier league football but they dont pay to watch their team play seperate from the monthly subscription.

Exactly what i put earlier,remember was it sky or setanter charges £7 a game for footy in the 2000/01 season and that didnt take off,wonder why? Dya think fans just didnt buy it?

I haven't read the whole thread so apologies if I'm going over old ground but so many things antagonize me about Sky's PPV events :
Adverts. How can they justify them ? Surely 100,000 people paying £17 reduces the need to balance the books by selling airtime to retailers. Straight after the points verdict for Chisora Whyte was announced these clowns cut to an advert. It's always fascinating to watch people in the ring after the fight, their body language, how they interact etc particularly after such a close brutal fight but we get gambling adverts for deluded morons instead
Sky's hideous new format where an outer panel consisting of a glorified stripper who introduces the show and Johnny Nelson start things off. The modelling reject is fed questions by an ipad which she reads out to Johnny who delivers dull as ditchwater replies. These two then pass things over to the inner revolving panel, Adam Smith et al who seem to spend much of the evening playing musical chairs. All you need is one anchorman, two panellists, one commentator and one co commentator. Save yourselves some fvcking money Sky and stop rolling out all these wannabe pundits trotting out hideously tired cliches
Smith's commentary. All the man does is tell us how every ex boxer in the entire fvcking building is scoring the fight. I don't give a fvck Adam, I'm scoring it myself.
I paid my £17 to enjoy it properly. I think Burton/Buglioni and Chisora/Whyte deserved a couple of quid each from my £17 and am happy if they got it. Which they probably didn't... but anyway. Card was decent and I didn't feel robbed.
However we do pay for the footy cause they get far and away the lion's share of the Sky cash, which is a hefty sum in all households. If they shared it a bit more fairly with the boxing fans then maybe there'd be no need for PPV. It's not a given that Premier League footballers have to earn multiple thousands of quid every week, they can lower the subs for me and pay them less, I'd be happy with that. They're not PPV cause they get well above PPV rates already!
I do feel ripped off that they have ads all the time though. It's at the end of every round now too, when you used to get some rounds where you could listen to the corners which I always enjoyed.
They could have cut to an ad instead of listening to Wlad's painful PR though, I'd have embraced that.
I agree about the ads, obviously things need to be paid for and its how free to generates money, but when you pay a subscription plus a Ppv and you are still inundated with them!
Eddie put on a great show, you will be hard pressed to watch a better undercard.
I paid and I'm happy I did. Whyte v Chisora and Burton v Buglioni together was worth £17!
The way I look at is, if I don't buy it - I would go to the pub to watch it (as I really cannot be arsed trying to look for a shitty stream!) and if went to the pub I would spend way more than £17 and I would get pissed off by the stupid comments from 'casuals' and then probably would have left by the Chisora v Whyte fight (which I thought was the best fight of the nights.)
I don't think calling people 'mugs' is right. There's probably stuff you spend money on, where other people wouldn't?
I'm more than happy to part ways with £16.95 if that's the quality of card i'm going to get. Almost every fight ended in a KO, Buglioni vs Burton was potential fight of the year, as was Chisora Whyte. Quigg and Callum Smith both scored amazing KO's, Yafai winning the world title with AJ doing exactly what everyone expected and setting up the Klitschko fight in the process.
I think some of you supposed hardcore boxing fans think it's fashionable to just moan all the time, British boxing is booming at the moment and it's because of cards like this. £16.95 is a small price to pay.
