Could 2017 be the best boxing years since 2000?

in all the important divisions: heavyweight, light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight. there is no one left standing but the best. what i mean by that, all the a level guys from the div mentioned fought b, c and d level opponents and beat them, only a level boxer left at the top. no hiding, other than promoter completly fooling fans, than 2017 can be the best year in a very long time.

heavyweight

wilder, josh, ortiz, they destroyed all the b c level opponents, no one left at the top. josh-klitschko/wilder-parker/haye-josh/ortiz-josh

light heavyweight

bert and gvoz climbed the letter in 2016, now they at the top and 2017 they will showcase their talent against the a listers. kovalev-ward II/kovalev-bertebiev/stevenson-gvozdyk

welterweight

thurman against danny is done deal. things look like spence-brook is gonne happen. crawford might go up, manny is waiting.

2016 was a bad year, but the best emerged, the dust is settled, 2017 its no more a vs c, its a vs a, best against the best

Deontay Wilder vs. Alexander Povetkin

This year had soooooo much potential but all of these fell through. I hope so bad the likes of Beterbiev and Ortiz get big fights. Hopefully 2017 isn't another year of cancellations

2017 does look promising, not only at the top but at the impending level. Most weight classes are relatively deep currently. The most encouraging part is that the best of boxing has gravitated back towards the heavier classes. Cruiser is the class of the field because all of the top contenders appear intent on kicking each others' butts. Light Heavy is also heating up but HW has similar potential to this time last year. That potential is great.

I am very interested in SMW. Groves appears to be up for another big fight. Maybe the winner of DeGale v Jack. I like Ramirez. I think that at least one of those four will get 3G in 2018. Ramirez ought to take the risk v reward proposition presented by a Groves fight across the pond.

Hopefully, 3G gets Jacobs and GingerHead in 2017. I think that Jacobs is more of a threat than some have posted. That said, 3G stops him early to mid fight.

SW and welter are poised for some wars. How much comes to fruition may be a different story. The Charlos are developing. We will see the next page on Saturday. The Spence v Brook fight needs to get made. Winners and losers of that and the Thurman v Danny match would help make 2017 a very good year.

(No, I am not taking into account competing promoters, etc..)

Most importantly 2016 is finishing with quite a flourish, which suggests good things for 2017. Parker v Ruiz, Charlo v Williams, Mares v Cuellar, Uchiyama v Corrales II, Joshua v Molina, BHop v Smith, Molina v Crawford. Pretty solid with the last few weekends thrown in, especially the Lebedev v Gassiev card.

The fights already on the calendar for 2017 are more impressive than the first few months have been at this juncture in years.

I can't wait to see Gassiev and Usyk fight in 2017, even if it is not with each other. Looking forward to Krusher v Ward II, and Lomassiah v Vargas or anybody else at 130. I can't wait for LSC v Frampton II. I want to see Indongo v Crawford or Postol.

It goes on and on. Boxing is building into 2017.

i mean 2016, for a lot of top upn comers, it was to early, they needed more fights, needed to build their name more. now everybody knows the names lomachenko, usyk, ortiz, bertebiev, gvozdyk, spence etc., i mean they are not known on super star level, but they build a reputation and beat all the b-d level opponents, now only the top guys are left. danny had to make a name for himself at 147, lomachenko had to build himself with better entertaining fight, usyk needed a big win, grassiev needed a big win, they all did it, the top talents showed they are amongs the best, 2016 the top guys destroyed lower competetion, now only the best left and a level is finaly gone fight a level.

like i said....2016 the top boxers beat all the b level opponents, only the best left a the top. golden boy has plan for canelo fighting ggg oscar said. ortiz signed with matchroom for a mega showdown for joshua. wilder wants to get back in 2017 fight the big names. bertebiev and gvozdyk build their name and gonne get a fight with adonis or kovalev. gonzales and inoue are in the same division now and the fight was in talk for long time in media. thurman will fight danny and whoever wins the big showdown will boost his fame building disscusion against pacquiao, crawford, canelo, spence. 2017 gonne be the best year in a long time, just cant see it any other way. doubt promoters will keep continuing letting their best boxer fight out of shape cab drivers like molina.

Yes. Not only do i think that it's going to be an amazing year after just seeing the schedule for first quarter but I think that this could be turning point in Boxing. The unproven fighters out there will be motivated to be involved in these types of fights after witnessing these best on best fights on tap and it could really change the climate in the sport positively. I really hope that happens.

I'm very optimistic at this point.
