It was a close fight.
That the judges gave victory Ruiz then the majority also said that is not good, so it is always with close fight.

I persistently claimed that the winner of the Parker-Ruiz bout would be coin toss... and I was ultimately proven right.

When I was praising Ruiz, others were unfairly judging a book by its cover and were expecting the Mexican-American to be dominated by Parker.

It seems that those that underrated Ruiz, by mocking his talents, have been silenced.

115-114 Ruiz, but I have no problem with the decision. Lots of close rounds.

I think Parker won but I watched the fight live and some rounds could have gone either way.

But the best man won the fight. In rematch Parker wins on points.

7-5 Ruiz for me

Most in the British and Irish section scoring in the RBR thread had it close for Parker.

Watched the fight without the sound turned on, so as I wouldn't be distracted by opinion.

I thought Parker just shaded Ruiz. But I would not have been surprised if it had been scored a draw by the judges - in fact one judge did score it a draw.

Was just looking at a poll elsewhere and it is the mirror image of this one - that is it has Parker by about the same margin as this poll has it for Ruiz.

114-114
Close fight.
No problem with the decision for me.
Decent fight from two guys who may(or may not) get a lot better.

Close fight. Ruiz's main advantage over Parker is his man boobs. Parker should be embarrassed it was even close.

Parker 115-114

Close either way would have been fair.

You're judging a book by it's cover. Ruiz has some serious skills and a granite chin - I think he'd give almost anyone at heavyweight a tough fight.

I am probably guilty as far as judging Ruiz from the way he looks. I just can't stand watching a professional fighter looking so out of shape and having more rolls than a bakery....more chins than a Chinese phone book. Imagine how good he could be without having to carry all that extra fat around?

116-112 Parker for me.

I had Ruiz winning the first 4 rounds, and then I felt like Parker just did a bit more in every round throughout the rest of the fight. It was definitely an uninspiring performance from Parker though.

116-113 Parker. Ruiz was better than I thought, Parker not as good. Either that or I'm still underestimating Ruiz. He really should try cruiser. Nice hand speed and chin, he just has no power at all

I think Ruiz is a bit better than we thought and Parker is still a young HW 24.

I had Ruiz by 2 rounds. but it could have gon either way..

I have followed Ruiz all year, I never really rated him.. But he showed up for this big fight, and he kinda made Parker look above average..

Ruiz will do well under Abel Sanchez, I don't think he'll become world champion, but that depends on if he fights or a vacant title again.

No. That was me at my worst. I received a lot of stick (criticism) for my accurate evaluation of Ruiz before the Parker bout, but perhaps I should have refrained from boasting about it.

I made a mistake and acted like the trolls who criticised me harshly, which was wrong.
