Wlad Klitschko vs Mike Weaver?

Post by keithmoonhangover »

Both prime, is it a wild shootout or clinch filled bore.

Who you got?

Why?

Weaver by early ko against what people consider to be prime wlad. The guy that fought Brewster could ice Mike too. Mike could fight in close, one left hook is all he'd need.

I've had a few conversations with Weaver. He is an admitted slow starter. He would tell me how he had to feel out most opponents to even mount an offense.
This would be a disaster against Klitschko.

If Weaver could survive the first 2 rounds he has a chance for a late ko.
But my money would be on Klit

A lot depends on one crucial factor. Would Weaver be allowed to punch Klitschko in the face?

That confused me too. Wladmir was nowhere near being classified as a "fast starter".

I'd expect Wlad to win 4 out of 5. He knows exactly what Mike's going to want to do and he'd close that road off. Mike will have to take something coming in. Wlad is accurate. Mike was durable but he was far from iron-chinned...

Wlad to win easier than many people think. Weaver was good but Wlad is definitely better.

Kind of telling it would be the best win of wlads career.

Maybe, this is true also for Weaver.

Wladimir for me has the biggest wins Mercer and Byrd.

Mercer was way past it by the. That win doesn't mean much at all. His biggest win is over Chris Byrd. Guess that makes him a legend.

I'd say he has multiple wins that mean more than his win over Mercer.

Lamon Brewster (2nd Fight)
Samuel Peter (1st Fight)
David Haye
Alexander Povetkin
Ruslan Chagaev

I don't necessarily think those guys had a better overall career than Ray Mercer, but they were definitely more dangerous opponents at the time Wlad fought them than Mercer was.

It is possible that you are right. Mercer I believe is the better boxer of the above but in the fight with Wlad was far from prime.

Brewster may have been more shot than Mercer. Aa awful as the fight was from both sides, haye is probably his best win all things considered.

He had no a better career than Mercer and Mercer prime is better than this from the fight with Wlad is not better.
Well maybe you're not a fan, but for me it was ok Mercer.

Byrd is still above.

Wlad vs Haye & Ibragimov was so intimidated by the sight of an in shape opponent angling to hit him that he refused to risk throwing a right until the 3rd round. Weaver would easily survive his always perilous first round.

Mercer was nowhere near his prime. It's like saying Holmes best win was Ali.

As he it was the same when he beat Morrison and lost to Klitschko. Normally, he had his best days.
