Kell Brook IBF light Middleweight title ???

Post by Andrew »

Was thinking about this before.

Charlo has said he was going to move up after this fight which with him retaining last night leaves a vacant belt.

Now I think it is ridiculous and dangerous for Kell Brook to stay at 147 to fight Spence. He will have to move up at some point.

With him being champion with the IBf at the weight below surely they would let him move up and fight for the vacant belt ?? Tony Harrison would be the opponent if this happens a very winnable fight as well( Willie Nelson battered him)

I still don't think that Brook is returning to 147. I agree with those who think that would be a bad move, similar to RJJ's late career disastrous pogo sticking.

That reads very much like the internal workings of Eddie Hearns mind spilling on to a page

Consider the Harrison v Brook fight announced for the spring (unless the Khan happens)

It's ridiculous for Brook to fight a live opponent?

Very winnable and very unimpressive. Typical Brook opponent.

I look forward to Brook going back to fighting chumps and wasting his career.

I'd hate for him to fight good opposition and win, then I'd have to give him credit.

Never thought of this, perhaps Brook is/has been waiting to see what happens with Charlo. I can't see him fighting Spence either

It's deserving of it but Eddie's stacked card etc. Spence is pretty unknown really over here

Unfortunately you're absolutely bang on here. Joshua vs Molina is more PPV worthy than Brook taking on one of the hottest talents in the sport

I can see Brook Harrison as a PPV early April then, right between Haye Bellew and Joshua Wlad, just to completely rinse me.

All about timing and if it fits.

When will Charlo vacate ?

When will IBF call the spence mandatory ?

Hearn has made it clear he wants Brook to drop the belt and move up.

Brook won't do it but surely he would if it meant the chance of being able to be a 2 weight world champion.

Also Barthelemy did the same thing last year. Moved up as IBF super feather champ and won the vacant IBF lightweight belt.

Unfortunately, aside from giving fight fans the match up they want...this move makes sense whatever way you look at it.

(Unless someone offers huge money for the Spence fight, which I just don't see happening)

It's not an impressive achievement.

Beating a nobody for a vacant title is nothing compared to beating Spence.

this in spoons! brook wants to easiest fights or ones that pay top money. erroll spence would give him a hard fight for low pay. its a shame that fighters who claim to be world class dont want to fight the best regardless.
