What is Chisora's place in (British) boxing history?
So far anyway, things could defintely change a bit while he's still active.

Just somewhere between British and world level for me. He's a twat outside of the ring and sometimes in it but I always find myself warming to him for some reason!

He's a nearly man but he still has a few fights left in him. Solid European/fringe world level operator.
I feel Whyte will be destined for the same mantle.

He"'ll go down as a SOB ...spitting in wladimirs face in a sucker move...sucker slapping vitali... than losing...than trying to bully David hate and getting arseholed on the carpet all his crew beaten up....than he goes crazy with Sullivan whyte and totally redeems himself by putting on an incredible show of heat, skill and stamina.if Derek finally gets in shape and beats whyte he can earn some big money now.I think he is a nasty guy but he has consistently fought the best and only fury has made him a patsy....everyone else it was close.
Very rude for him to be called a gatekeeper.
I thought he edged whyte

Great character. If he could punch he would be big time box office.

Haye poleaxed him. That was emphatic and wasn't particularly close.Bricks wrote:He"'ll go down as a SOB ...spitting in wladimirs face in a sucker move...sucker slapping vitali... than losing...than trying to bully David hate and getting arseholed on the carpet all his crew beaten up....than he goes crazy with Sullivan whyte and totally redeems himself by putting on an incredible show of heat, skill and stamina.if Derek finally gets in shape and beats whyte he can earn some big money now.I think he is a nasty guy but he has consistently fought the best and only fury has made him a patsy....everyone else it was close.

He's had an entertaining career despite being a bit of a plodder for most of it. Certainly achieved far more than I thought he would after he squeezed past Tom Dallas in the ABA final.

To be fair Chisora has had a good career had some big fights, more than most got beat in most of them but probably top 10 UK heavyweight ever resume.
Re: What is Chisora's place in (British) boxing history?
For me he's a solid EBU level fighter who hasnt shied away from tough opponents.
Vitali, Haye, Fury x2, Pulev, Helenius at the peak of his hype, Whyte, and Scott, as well as being down to fight Wlad before the latter pulled out. That's Froch-esque, though obviously without the same level of success.

In Britain his in the Top 5
One problem...his constancy...one Fight he shows great boxing, next fight he slurps with 260lbs through the ring.
2013 Dereck means his mother said to him "Dereck..do it right, or let it be!"
I thought that will be a new startup for him.
Good Infighter... he knows to fight.

He's achieved a fair bit in his career, but he's one of those guys who could win titles but was not quite good enough to be world class.
It's a real shame he never took the conditioning side more seriously because in this multi belt age, he might well have picked up a world title trinket before now.

Great career. Solid Euro level fighter.
Only 32 but looking shopworn. He's been matched very tough.
One of my favourite fighters to be honest. Even though I frown at the pantomime behaviour deep down I love it.

At his best he was probably good enough to be a belt holder. I'd certainly pick a peak Delboy to beat the Parker we saw on Saturday night.
