Eubank Jr to box on ITV PPV

Post by ozzy1875 »

Legit and just announced, Chris Eubank Jr to box Renold Quinlan for the IBO world super-middleweight title on ITV PPV in the new year.

Farcical quite frankly and embarrassing, how many buys will this do exactly?

To make this even stranger they've said the undercard is free on ITV 4.

I think this will do really well.. ITV have a much bigger platform to do PPV and with the right fighter can blow Sky out the water.. Eubank Jnr is a huge name to the casuals but they need to get the build up right. They also need a big undercard with some big household names.. Can easily see this doing above 150,000 buys

Sounds like the undercard will be free though so you'll just be paying for the fight itself

Two things that now make more sense:

1. The GMTV interviews.
2. Sky Box Office becoming available to non sky customers on PC and NOW TV apps.

Just the build up to the fight is on ITV 4.. Im guessing they will try and expose the character of Jnr.. No doubt Snr will be used as well. Eubank Jnr is an exceptional talent and always fun to watch. I would prefer to pay for him than the stuff we get from AJ

I can't see this doing anything but bombing. Why would anyone pay to watch eubank Jr face a rank outsider, it's not even for a world title.

You're kidding?

Absurd. The way Eubank acted last year, there's no way he deserves to be put on PPV.

I wouldn't pay a penny for Mr. No Towels, even if he was fighting somebody good. I hope this tanks, I really do. Might put an end to ITV's greed, but I doubt it.

I might watch the undercard on ITV, and then turn off.

Agreed. I haven't paid for PPVs in a while, but I have done in the past. The reason I stopped, for the most part, was because I felt I was encouraging nonsense like this to happen.

We're all partly to blame in this, in my opinion. Myself included.

Any idea how much it will cost? (not that I have any intention of buying whatsoever)

Same here ,if it was groves or degale I could get it but a mostly unknown Aussie why would anyone pay for that ....he is really screwing his career up
They must be hoping the Eubank name along will sell it, perhaps they are prepared to take a hit on the first event, but I can see this going tits, especially if the Eubanks are demanding a small fortune, which seems likely given this isn't free to air.

What sort of undercard do you think we'll get from Poxon Sports? I can only imagine it will be not even worth watching on ITV4 tbh.

I'm surprised they never put him on ITV4 a couple of times in these types of fight to get an idea of the demand before launching a PPV. Can't see this ending well.

Edit - Just noticed it's at Super Middle, permanent move?

It seems as if ITV have not learned from the disastrous ITV Sport & ITV Digital.

Also, who is advising Eubank Jr?

Do they really think we'll shell out to watch a man who was too gutless to fight Golovkin fight some non-entity on PPV?

Get Golovkin in the other corner & then you can have your PPV Mr Eubank Jr!
