Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
It's the GGG fight we all want.
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Is Charlo the same size roughly? Yes? Then aye he'll swerve him!
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
If there is no great call for them to fight, is it ducking?
I don't think it's a fight that absolutely has to happen, Charlo isn't the next fight for Canelo because there are probably 2 or 3 better options.
Will he take those options? Well probably not but if he does he can hardly be accused of avoiding Charlo

I think if I had to bet my life on it then Oscar will pretend he's broke and run in the other direction with his golden goose

look for canola & fishnets to line up another bum like kirkland or smith at a catch weight of 155
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Of course you mean a rematch with the winner of Kirkland v Cottoskinnysteve wrote:look for canola & fishnets to line up another bum like kirkland or smith at a catch weight of 155
Of course GingerHead isn't ducking the Charlos. He has alrrady planned escapes under multiple scenarios of Errol The Almighty Spence Jr.

Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Canelo clearly has problems with skillful fighters unless they are midgets. Charlo is the same size as Canelo, punches at least as hard as Canelo and has good skills.
A risky fight for Canelo with a little gain, as everybody wants him to fight GGG.

He does struggle with movers and he wont fight GGG cause GGG wont take a backward step against him and make him look like a little ginger kidboxing_rocks wrote:Canelo clearly has problems with skillful fighters unless they are midgets. I thought he was moving up to 160 for his next fight in preparation for the GGG fight?
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Damned straight CanYellow will duck Jermall... He's a pathetic little coward... He fought Trout because he knew he was a weak hitter with a weak chin. On my card he lost to Trout by 1-point because he was outscored by so many punches. I had him losing to Lara by 6 points, 117-111. I don't subtract points when a boxer uses his faster feet and greater reach and range to his best advantage. I know fans love attackers but there's a difference between sticking and moving and pure running ... Running is when you're in survival mode and getting out-punched. Lara was the guy landing the legal blows.
The decision was a joke, but Lara is also a light hitter with minor chin problems and no attacking ability -- even though he's a much better boxer than Trout he wasn't a big risk for Canelo... Jermall Charlo has no chin or power problems at all that I can see... CanYellow hasn't beaten anybody real good and won't fight anyone good. Fight Andrade or Charlo or GTFO of Boxing you freckle faced fraud.
I'm very sick and tired of so-called World Champions who duck their most logical opponents. Mares and Cuellar are 2 more "Featherweight Champions" who never had to fight Gary Russell -- a guy they know would knock them both out cold -- and that's to go along with Frampton, Santa Cruz, and Selby who are also duckers... That's 5 Featherweight Champions who've been allowed to skate while Russell can't get a decent fight to save his life.

Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Is it just me that think Canelo beats Charlo quite convincingly.
I'd be about 80/20 in favour of Canelo winning by either points (and I don't mean by route of dodgy judging) or potentially a stoppage

Frampton just jumped to feather v LSC, Krayon. Mares has fought LSC and Cuellar in succession. Before condemning him wait for his next move. If it is v the winner of LSC v Frampton how could anyone criticize him for that?
LSC is a different story. He certainly could have faced Russell Jr. by now. Cuellar certainly did himself no favors sitting around for a year waiting for Mares, who the majority felt that he would defeat.
No comment on Selby.
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
nice posts
Yes Canelo is overprotected by that b§tch Oscar. But if the fight (Jermall Charlo against Canelo) will happen, it will be tough night for Charlo, trust me. This Charlo isnt a mover, he like to stay in middle of the ring. Alvarez brings some advantages on table, like better defense and faster hands. Charlo was not so hard to hit by clean punches by Trout and Williams. Trust me this is a winnable fight for Alvarez. The other Charlo (Jermell) is far more dangerous for Canelo because of his style, even without punching power of his brother

Btw, I see Vetyeka needs a dance partner in February at Casablanca. What's TRex Jr. waiting for?

Let's combine 154 and 160 right now.davie wrote:If there is no great call for them to fight, is it ducking?

1. GGG
2. Lara
3. Canelo
4. Charlo
5. Jacobs
6. Andrade
Who are the 2 or 3 better options? (Note - He's NOT fighting GGG next)
They are both moving up officially to 160 at the same time.
I don't see how this isn't the best available fight for Canelo. (Because GGG isn't happening)
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
If the Charlo brothers are so brave why don't they answer the call of Andrade calling them out before stepping in the ring with Canelo? The answer to me is simple. Andrade would beat them both. Andrade is too high risk with low reward for Charlo, the same as Charlo is a high risk low reward for Canelo.
I read Jermall was 158 or 159 fight night recently, and he needs to move up due to weight problems?

Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Charlo would fight andrade. Demetrius is tied up with that pointless culcay fight. I agree that andrade is very talented, but he's shown more reluctance than jermall ever has as far as making fights.
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
Firstly, you've missed an obvious option.BAD INTENTIONS wrote:Let's combine 154 and 160 right now.davie wrote:If there is no great call for them to fight, is it ducking?

Billy Joe Saunders. He'd jump at the payday. Canelo would wipe the floor with him and have a proper middleweight world title. Better option number 1!
Not being from the USA, I don't know who are the most easily recognisable names. My guess would be that a Charlo fight would bring as good a payday as the likes of Andrade, Jacobs or the other Charlo. Particularly when you consider that Canelo is really the A-side that does the selling anyway, fighting a top American fighter is going to be box office.
So, making that assumption, Any of those 3 is as good an option, the other Charlo is probably more beatable and Jacobs carries a "world title" that again gives a bargaining chip in the GGG saga
GGG is going to happen at some point, I'm fairly sure of that. it won't happen next but it will likely happen and is THE option
We are after all on a thread questioning will Canelo duck Charlo. well if he is going to duck anyone, it'd be as well being Charlo, because GGG is a much better option (if we're talking super-fight paydays)
I can only presume people are even suggesting he's ducking Charlo because they think Canelo might not win? Well if he's a risk, so is GGG but GGG brings greater recognition, a greater payday, less damage to his marketability if he does lose and greater boost to his legacy if he wins.
PS I think Canelo beats Charlo 9 times out of 10, so I fail to see why we are debating this. I don't think Charlo can expect to be the first priority in Canelos immediate plans. If he's such hot sh1t, why isn't he hunting a MW title?
Is he going to duck GGG too?
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
First of all, I think we can all agree that boxing fans are assholes who disrespect the fighters way too much. Second, Alvarez fought Lara, so he really isn't in the business of avoiding a challenge. As much as I respect Jermall, he is not as dangerous as Lara.
Re: Will Canelo duck Charlo?
I think it's just the done thing to accuse Canelo of ducking everyone he hasn't fought yet. I'm convinced he's terrified of Lomachenkos remarkable movement, handspeed and technical ability for instanceLackeos wrote:First of all, I think we can all agree that boxing fans are assholes who disrespect the fighters way too much. But the fact remains, for the last 6 years he has fought at a very high level and has a better CV than any 26 year old on the planet right now, in fact very few fighters at any age or any weight can boast the record of fighting top level fighters, that he holds.
But he hasn't faced GGG yet so he's scared of the entire world (nothing to do with the fact that ODLH won't let him fight him)
