Former Commonwealth & Australian Super Middleweight champion, Rod Carr, passed away on Monday.

Took his own life. Had suffered from depression for a long time. An insidious disease many people do not take seriously.

Far too young to die.

I remember an old friend who died in similar circumstances. Last time I saw him was at an occasion that should have been a high point of his life but he had the ten mile stare, I was shaking his hand and he was looking past me to god knows what. Turns out his marriage was in trouble and when he died it was his fifth suicide attempt. Tragic.

It's a terrible disease that we have probably all experienced at some point. It ain't weak to speak. I take a pill every day and it agrees with me. Glad to come out the other side.

he was a great guy and loyal friend.

He gave his all in every fight he was in.
