"A massive puncher" with a shattered china chin. Should be interesting while it lasts.

I don't know if I'd call Kirkland a massive puncher exactly, he's definitely an aggressive banger though. He's usually not a one punch KO kinda guy though.

Are there any half-decent bouts scheduled for 2017 being televised by HBO that aren't PPV?

Cotto ain't the biggest banger in the world either at this weight. I'm thinking it goes a while and Cotto stops him around the 8th

At 153, Kirkland will be so exhausted by weight drain that Cotto will likely finish him early.

A guy beaten by a former minimumweight fighting a guy who was beaten by someone who later went on to fight at heavyweight...bet that hasn't happened often

Don't be a dumb chump... Kirkland is a sitting duck who'll get knocked out again. Even Ishida flattened the wide open target. Cotto's left hook is too quick for JK and his hands are way too fast. Kirkland is taking the fight for the money -- not because he thinks he can spring an upset over Cotto.. It's another safe fight which are all that are made in Boxing these days ... If Cotto wanted an actual contest he'd fight Lara, Jermall, or Andrade.

Ishida was badly damaged and put into intensive care when he was iced by Golovkin... He's been a disoriented mess since and probably doesn't actually know if he's a Heavyweight or a Bantamweight. "You make a fight for me - I make a fight for you. Please make a fight for me. We both make money." ... "OK Mr Ishida. Sounds good. We'll get back to you."

Deserved at least one of the bouts against Kyotaro, if not both, he's now running a gym and seems happily retired

Good one. I'll remember that and hope to slip it into a boxing quiz one day.
