Serious question . :geek: . If GingerHead and JCC Jr. could fight 3G 2 on 1, would they take the fight? Who would win?

Close win on points by Canelo, which makes Oscar scream: REMATCH. That way they can run from GGG a little longer and let him age more lol

Canelo takes it by decision I'd say. This is kinda the Mayweather vs Pacquiao of Mexico except it's so far overdue that it's lost a lot of significance.

Major troll of GGG if Canelo says he needs to build himself up to 160 but can fight a fat bastard at 165 anyway.

Oh well. Canelo by decision unless Chavez quits.

WTF is this cuckery????

This is not something that a tru aztec warrior would do.....

How you gonna make such a big deal with GGG and him having to come down to you yet you got a nerve to go chavez tacoweight of 165lbs????

I guess canelo is also gonna duck the charlo twins too????

these blatant ducks are killing the sport and lounge traffic.....

I think you’re missing the point. Canelo may already be capable of technically competing as a middleweight physically, but he hasn’t acclimatised to being on the receiving end of punches thrown by bigger men than the 154lb-ers he’s been facing.

Abel Sanchez himself has said (repeatedly) that part of the reason why he was reluctant to allow GGG to face Andre Ward at the fully-fledged 168lbs weight immediately, was because he wanted Golovkin to engage in a few bouts against easier opposition to acclimatise to taking punches from heavier guys.

There’s nothing unreasonable about this.

How is refusing to fight a 160-pounder, because Canelo's body is not ready for 160, and facing a SMW instead reasonable ? Is that some kind of English logic similar to English humor ?

But it's absolutely fine for Canelo to come in 15-20lbs heavier than his opponents on fight night, but being on the receiving end of a middleweight is a step too far right now?

I LOVE this fight. I know that people wanted it to be GGG but that fight is tentatively penciled in for the Fall so Canelo needs a fight and I absolutely love this choice. Though he quit on his stool, Jr. has a world class chin and it will be very interesting to see how he stands up to Canelo's power. No MW or lighter has hurt him yet. This fight would be immense in Mexico. No bigger fight this year.

With that said, Jr. has always asked for too much in negotiations so I don't expect this one will get done unfortunately.

That’s a redundant point, since it’s unrelated to what I’ve said. Canelo is facing other 160lb-ers to acclimatise to facing bigger men (not that it's a step too far), before sharing the ring with GGG. This is common knowledge. It’s no secret.

If I've learned anything over the end of 2016 on boxrec it's that every fight is a robbery. Doesn't matter who wins or who loses, this fight will end in a robbery to somebody here.

It might be as big as Mayweather vs. Pacquiao in Mexico, however neither guy has the record or reputation and only one of the fighters (Chavez) is washed up.

Neither was washed up in Pac vs Floyd. Past their best perhaps, but certainly not washed up. Pac's performances this year shows he certainly wasn't washed up.

If it gets signed I love this fight.
Almost certain to be an action packed, crowd pleasing fight.
It may happen at a 165lb catchweight but JCCjr will be 175-180 on fight night.

I like this fight as well. But, with this move, it's quite obvious Canelo and Co. lack confidence in their chances of a win against TripG. I don't believe anyone is disputing this at this point.

Really interesting fight. When you look at photos of the two fighters standing side by side Chavez has a significant size advantage.

If somehow Chavez can make the weight comfortably I like him by stoppage.
