Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
Who would have won if they fought?
I say Lewis. Too big of a difference in height, reach, and power.

Re: Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
Lewis probably for the reasons you mentioned.

Plenty of views on this in the did Lewis duck Byrd and who could /should Lewis have fought threads. Enjoy!VG_Addict wrote:Who would have won if they fought?

Lennox easy - Lennie the Lion had zero interest to fight "a bird" - no contest
Re: Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
Mavrovic is my good friend, he was going through some health issues and unfortunately the fight with Lewis was his last. Lennox, however, was too much then.
Byrd was good boxer but I' think physically too weak for Lewis.

I agree but more would be better in the cruiser..golden oldie wrote:Very sad that Zeljko had to give up boxing due to health issues, a very tough, under rated guy.Keko wrote:Mavrovic is my good friend, he was going through some health issues and unfortunately the fight with Lewis was his last. At least it is in the fight with Lewis earned a solid money. He went on in private business.
Re: Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
He was involved in healthy food, .production and sales. Currently he is fit and good health. Regular trains and, finally is in good health. Mavrovic is a very good and pleasant man.golden oldie wrote:I am pleased to hear it. I disagree about Byrd being outboxed by Vitali. I scored the fight either 5-4 or 5-3-1 for Vitali prior to stoppage. Vitali was winning the fight but in reality in was much, much closer than on the scorecards. And don't forget that Byrd was late replacement for Ruddok in that fight.golden oldie wrote:You have to go with Lewis here. Byrd was being out boxed by Vitali Klitchko before the shoulder injury. The Lewis that boxed the ears off Tua, and Mavrovic makes easy work of Byrd. Alternatively he might just decide to splatter him.
As for Lewis - Byrd fight, if we are talking about the best version of Lewis (Holyfield I, Tua, Rahman II fights version) vs the best version of Byrd (Holyfield and Tua fights too ironically) I have no doubts that Lewis wins this comfortably. Byrd simply didn't have the tools to beat prime Lewis or give him really tough fight. Too small and too feather-fisted. Byrd was excellent boxer and he would probably create some awkward moments for Lewis, but it wouldn't be enough even to make fight close, let alone win it.
Re: Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
Lennox definitely would've beaten Chris Byrd. He was strong and patient enough to find the openings on Byrd. Byrd would possibly have been able to last the distance with Lennox, but I doubt he'd have been able to put together a string of offense good enough to ever have a serious chance of winning. At best Byrd might win a few rounds on the way to a lopsided decision loss, but I'd lean toward a stoppage around the 8th or 9th for Lennox.

I hPretty much agree with you. ad Byrd up 5-4. Very close fight with very little action. Lewis did just about everything much better than Kltischko and wouldn't have quit. Hard to think of a scenario with Byrd having a chance. No chance at all that he would stop Lewis. Don't see Byrd outboxing him. Most likely result would be Lewis stopping Byrd in something like 8 rounds. Byrd would give a good effort, but he would simply be outgunned.Boxing Writer wrote:I disagree about Byrd being outboxed by Vitali. Byrd is probably better than I give him credit for but I just can't see a way in which he could beat Lennox. Byrd's achievements were impressive all things considered but Lewis is an ATG heavyweight.

Well the ringside judges disagreed with you.Boxing Writer wrote:I disagree about Byrd being outboxed by Vitali. I scored the fight either 5-4 or 5-3-1 for Vitali prior to stoppage.
After 9 rounds the scores were: 89-82, 88-83, 88-83 in favour of Klitschko - not close at all.

Re: Lennox Lewis vs. Chris Byrd.
The scoring for that fight was ridiculous. 89-82 would mean that he had Klitschko 8 winning rounds to 1! The other two had 7-2. Please.
That fight was very close. If Klitschko had any idea that they had him up by so much, he probably wouldn't have quit.
