Charles Martin calls out Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Former IBF world heavyweight boxing champion Charles Martin has called out Joseph Parker and Anthony Joshua in an expletive-laden rant.

Martin lost the IBF heavyweight world title to Joshua in April, after being knocked out in the second round of what was his first defence.

Martin's reign as champion was the second shortest in professional boxing history, lasting just 85 days.

The 30-year-old hasn't fought in a professional bout since, but claims he isn't done with the heavyweight division.

Martin called out both Parker and Joshua for potential fights in an unbelievable outburst uploaded to BOXINGEGO's YouTube channel.

In the four minute video Martin calls out Joshua and Kiwi WBO world champion Parker, asking for a fight on the same night.
"So Joseph Parker, I'm gonna whoop your a** and I'm gonna whoop your a**, Anthony Joshua, on the same night.

"Mark my words."
Martin also swears repeatedly and dons a balaclava with sunglasses on top while showing off his money in another rant unrelated to boxing.

The shortest reigning WBA 'Regular' champion was Wladimir Klitschko,
When he won the title from David Haye, Klitschko was automatically elevated to WBA Super Champion status and the regular WBA title was declared vacant.
So he was the WBA 'Regular' champion for about one secomd.
Other than that, James Toney was the WBA champion for only 16 days. He was stripped of the belt after a positive drugs test and the title was awarded to John Ruiz.

Nothing against him, but he doesn't have the chin to win at the top level.

Another reason, all these "titles," are a bad idea. Martin shouldn't have the pressure of having been called a champion.

If Jip can declare alternative winners, I can declare I never recognized Martin was champion. :bag:

I don't think any heavyweight lost a world title (In the ring) faster than Charles Martin (84 days). Runner up must be Shannon Briggs.
After getting the decision over George Foreman, Briggs was the lineal champion for only 125 days before losing the title to Lennox Lewis.
I almost forgot - Tyson Fury only had the IBF title for 10 days before they stripped him.

In the ring (as far as heavyweights are concerned), I reckon it must be Shannon Briggs.
After getting the decision over George Foreman, Briggs was the lineal champion for only 125 days before losing the title to Lennox Lewis.
But Martin only held his "title" for 85 days.

Tony Tucker's 64 days in 1987 (also as IBF champion).

You're ignored if you flap your yap in a stupid rant after taking the 10-count with one glove remaining on the canvas until you hear the word "10" ... Especially if it happens in the 2nd round after you got ripped with rights in the 1st round... Learn how to box first, stupid...then start flapping your yap... You QUIT in the most important fight of you life... It will take 2 or 3 years for you to claw back if you display unbelievable diligence and courage... It won't happen.

Comfortable KO win inside 3 for Price. Not sure Martin has the tools to KO Price, even with that chin!

I don't believe this is the first rant from Martin as of recent.

The guy clearly is having some personal problems. He's been shot, so he's clearly in with the wrong crowd at the moment, and these crazy ramblings suggests it's quite possible he's smacked off his tits.

The guy needs to get his affairs in order, but I don't know if we'll see him in the ring again, at least not anytime soon.

Charles Martin hasn't really legitimately beat a top 50 opponent by any circumstance other than freak knee injury. He really doesn't belong in the ring with Joshua or Parker. He should be fighting Amir Mansour or Derrick Rossy just to prove that he's an actual top 40 heavyweight. If he did that and won, we could talk about a possible fight with a top 25 opponent like Andy Ruiz or Artuz Szpilka.
