So, Povetkin started doing what nearly every top athlete around the world does. Should be banned for life for that

World of Boxing Promotions has announced that WBC #1 heavyweight Alexander Povetkin (30-1, 22 KOs) will now face WBC silver titlist Johann “Reptile” Duhaupas (34-3, 21 KOs) in the main event tonight at the Ekaterinburg Expo Center in Ekaterinburg, Russia. Duhaupas enters coming off an impressive KO over Robert Helenius in April and gave WBC champ Deontay Wilder a hard fight last year. He is rated #4 in both the WBC and IBF. It will be a nontitle fight and Duhaupas’ silver belt will not be on the line.

Duhaupas stepped in after Bermane Stiverne pulled out due to Povetkin failing a drug test and the WBC withdrawing world heavyweight interim title sanction as a result.
Some are just asking for it. He is going to fight a man known to be drugged in one day notice. See if I care when his skull cracks open. Its empty anyways.

Tyson Fury only tied up his belts twelve months, Povetkin has tied up the WBC for over two years with his nonsense. He should be forced to give up his mandatory position or have a wiaver written into any future contract that results in an immediate million dollar cash penalty for a fight that doesnt take place due to an adverse drug test.

Povetkin is history at WBC...he was on actual probation and failed it.

Just read previous WBC ruling over his previous fail.

Stiverne took doping and was allowed to fight for the WBC belt anyway

As said before, when Stiverne was caught cheating it was no problem for the WBC.

I'm not even sure if Povetkin currently has any stuff in his body at all and it's not even about the stuff, it's about the case. Stiverne used some illegal substance(s) in front of a doping tester and by saying he didn't realise, the WBC allowed the fight to carry on.

Stiverne tested positive recently and the wbc ignored it - clearly the wbc and sulaiman are being manipulated by haymon - haymon controls stiverne via king in case you didn't know - king has zero leverage in boxing today and has to bow to haymon - expect stiverne to take a dive vs wilder in 2017

What's weird about Stiverne's positive test is that he claims he used the product in front of the drug tester, in order to make himself urinate. Sounds pretty convenient: I know I took this substance and it will show up, so I'm going to take it right now so I have my "excuse" lined up and can say it was an honest mistake. And he gets let off the hook with a fine.

Who knows what is up with Povetkin. The Meldonium thing I can understand and was blown way out of proportion. It was very recently banned and no one knew how long it stayed in the body. Osterine has been banned for ages though. Povetkin just slipped up, or the testing agencies are getting better at their job. If they'd tested like this 10, 20 years ago we would have seen all sorts of fights cancelled. Maybe boxers have to adjust to the new reality?

LMAO @ dipsticks like asdfjkl, boxing rocks, and montrealsuper......trying to spin and/or justify Pedvedkin and his juicing. Stiverne drank an energy drink ffs! You would think as much money as Ryabinski has he would have paid off someone to hide the test results. Ban the fornicating cheat Povetkin forever. You know, maybe Wilder was right - the russians are a "different breed" of people. Certainly their fans are. :TU:

Wait.......its all Haymon's fault!

Wouldn't Stiverne still have gotten paid? Didn't he give up his payday?

Why the hell is Povetkin still allowed to fight? Any other country and his licence gets suspended.

Relax kid, there isn't even a positive test of Stiverne, remarkeble isn't it? He's only cought redhanded taking in illegal substances, but for some odd reason never received a positive dopingtest. Povetkin on the other side probably never took anything and it takes them ages before they realise he's innocent all the time.

It's bullshit, the Americans are simply scared, can't make much else of it.
No, it is not bullshit. It is a blatant neglect or incompetence in following procedures to properly hide PEDs usage. Povetkin should hire Wilder's "nutritionist".
Stiverne was busted while taking the doping in, in front of the doping agency and he was still allowed to fight from the WBC, in other words this is total bullshit, Wada/Vada failed to do a proper job last time as well, when Povetkin eventually turned out to be innocent, I wouldn't be surprised if they "screwed up" again.
Because he was on a stimulant, not something similar to anabolic steroids.
