Some of the tapes had been banned in other countries and I did get a 6 month ban at the beginning of the year through copyright infridgements. I felt uncomfortable with the fact that if the channel did get too big I might get a writ through the door from a company who owned the footage and had decided they did not like me putting up more and more footage.

Thanks for the support though.

I had a chat with an ex camera man who posts here from time to time. The issue that worried me was copyright laws.

I actually put up a tape from a small hall show and he filmed it so it was his property that i used. He was ok about it but in the course of our chat i got a little worried i may have been made an example of by one of the big promoters and i cant afford a big legal team.

Not trying to convince you to change your mind, but just for the sake of discussion - It's not something to be afraid of when you're uploading old fights. It doesn't cost those companies nothing, no one but few die-hard fans cares about those fights.
If promoter or TV network wanted to make example of someone - it would of someone who hosts a site which streams live events - particulary PPVs, because that's really costing them money.
Then you have people uploading live fights soon after they happen, that's also something that TV companies try to fight with.
Even with them - worse things that happens is site/files being taken down.

Then what's even bigger issue world-wide is piracy of movies and music.. But old fights, from the 90's, 80's... Just not worth it for nobody. If they can't make profit of it anyway, they won't bother.
When they will start caring, you'll see the same kind of system that they have with recent fights, when they add some sort of watermark to the video that is then detected by a system - it's not possible to upload any of the latest Showtime boxing events to YT - it's automatically taken down and you get a copyright strike on a channel(I tried it). That's far easier than "making example" - any legal sue would be just as much a trouble for promoter as it would be for yourself.
Just my 2 cents, again - not trying to convince you, just discussing the issue and again - you're the men. :TU:

Purely by his request. He was not angry at the point of departure, but he had deliberated on this decision, and communicated it clearly.
