Without a proper umbrella governing body boxing will and is moving itself towards an unlicensed and outlawed sport. Thats of our own doing the ones that love the game, let alone those who want it outlawed anyway. What if Povetkin killed the frenchman last night? What could possibly be the argument against banning the sport then?

Not necessarily. It depends when the test was taken and also it could just be incompetence on the WBC's behalf in regards to releasing the results so late versus it being the WBC framing Povetkin- which is what I imagine freedom and the dude that loves Briggs probably believe.

Yes, some people are loony when it comes to the conspiracies here, but I think it's fair to question why it all came about so late.

Over the last few years Povetkin has morphed from a flabby, heavy-handed grinder to a relatively chiselled KTFO merchant with improved stamina. Suggestions of PED usage abounded even before the first test, and I think at this point it takes a special kind of person to deny that he's using. I will say that while there is a bit of a 'those dirty Russians' narrative to this incident, many fighters from around the world fail tests or are strongly linked to drug use (e.g. Evan Fields), and while the doping may be more systematic in Russia it's wrong to act like PED usage isn't a widespread, multinational issue.

Incidentally, I've seen some claims that AJ refused VADA testing for the Molina fight. Anyone know whether that's accurate?

Joshua hasn't been offered because he isn't ranked by the WBC. The WBC VADA Clean boxing program (CBP) is mandatory for every fighter in the WBC top 15 and champion. That is all year round testing for VADA who are clearly the best agency because they catch people and at least report it before the fight.

Joshua is only drug tested by UKAD who as we know sweep everything under the rug. Galahad took ages Furys had a hearing last month and nothing. Hearn had said on Twitter Joshua will be tested by VADA for the klitschko fight but what Eddie says and what happens as we know are often completely different.

Sure Joshua doesn't have to enroll but it would set a great example to everyone if he does. Joseph Parker didn't have to enroll either because he was going for the WBO title but his team insist he did because they feel it is important to show he is a clean athlete. Massive respect to Team Parker

If i was the frenchman i would still be taking povetkin and the promoter to court for attempted murder right now.
And once we are into that sort of territory its the end of the sport.

All year round VADA testing should be compulsory for any boxer in the top 100 of the major alphabet bodies. Surely they all make enough from sanctioning fees to implement it?

I think it's better to have several independent testers, Wada/Vada make so many mistakes.
