Usyk certainly had a huge breakout year, but I wouldn't call him Fighter of the Year

I think schooling Glowacki in Poland is right up there with the year's best wins, and eclipses something like scraping by with a SD against Quigg, but the Mchunu win isn't quite strong enough for him to take FOTY IMO.

I wasn't that impressed by Usyk last night I all honesty,I hadn't seen much of Mchunu before so I don't know if he's a slippery customer but Usyk struggled with his range and timing and I noticed he threw a lot of clubbing shots

Credit where credits due though,he got the stoppage against a decent cruiserweight and his footwork was impressive at times

7. Canelo
8. Thurman
9. Spence
10. Parker
You consider Thurman's one win over Porter more deserving of FOTY over Frampton's wins over Quigg and Santa Cruz?

Sorry man, but as a boxing fan, I find that absurd. I also find puting Thurman's one win over Ward's 3 wins a bit crazy as well. I am with the majority in that I thought Kov won, but still.

Are you the one that had Floyd losing the second Maidana fight by DQ?

Frampton took Quigg to school, the cards were a joke.

You consider beating a guy by a slight margin schooling him?

I had it 115-113 Frampton. He won, I wouldn't call that a schooling.

I think Frampton whipped his arse tbh, I had it much wider.

Frampton, Smith, and Usyk are probably the best three choices for Fighter of the Year.

I thought Frampton won 7-5, with there being less in his rounds than there were in Quigg's. Frampton didn't do well over the second half and it wasn't close to a schooling.

Yep in a lot of ways it seemed like a case of Quigg starting too late. He'd already lost the fight on the cards before he started doing enough to win rounds.

Mchunu is a slick customer with fast hands and good reflexes, and guys like Chambers and Durodola couldn't do anything with him; he was also toying with Makabu for the first 4 rounds, and was still leading when stopped in the 11th. Aside from his speed and reflexes, he didn't give Usyk much to work with from a countering perspective, so I think Oleksandr found things a bit tricky at first, although even then I still gave him every round but the first.

Mchunu is also a dwarf for a cruiserweight- he's about 5'6 in reality.

Lomachenko is BOTY because he moved up in weight and became a 2-Division World Champion is undisputed and decisive fashion... Then he took on the most dangerous opponent at 130, the undefeated Nicholas Walters, and completely dominated him more brilliantly than expected...

Golovkin beat 2 undefeated challengers with combined records of 54-0 to easily extend his ATGreatest KO streak...

Chocolatito moved up and became a 4-Division World Champion, but for me, he didn't win the fight...

Crawford unified at 140 and then fought a 3rd rater, a pathetic mismatch...

Rigondeaux did crap because he can't get an appropriate fight to save his life...

Frampton stepped in front of Gary Russell to beat piss poor punching bag Santa Cruz...

Canyelo avoided GGG and everyone else who's a tough opponent...

All the top Heavyweights did crap all year... Except for Parker who got gift decisions in New Zealand over Takam and Ruiz to go 22-0, but he ducked around Anthony Joshua... That's the Heavyweight Fight I was looking forward to all year.

Ward is nowhere.. He looked surprised they gave it to him as Kellerman told him.. He got knocked down and beaten up.. He lost by a clear margin... Ward also looked damned sloppy and fought dirty.

Kovalev would be a candidate for BOTY if he was awarded the Ward fight...

Usyk won the Lineal Cruiserweight Title and defended it with impressive showings. He's a candidate...

Ortiz should have had a tremendous year given what he did last December, but everyone is strategically waiting for him to age a few years.

So that's more than 10 guys... I wouldn't know what order to put them in after Lomachenko, who did more and looked better than anyone else.

I disagree that Usyk is Fighter Of The Year, and I also don't think that he even moved into the top 5 with his win over Mchunu. I do think he slid into approximately #6 with that win.

Usyk is a clear top 3 CW. Fighter of the year? Not quite.
