Do you know what as GREAT? Watching Bhop get shot out of that ring in slow motion. That was great.
Hopkins was boring and dirty fighter, but he was one of the greatest fighters of the last 30 years. I'd only put Floyd, Manny, Holyfield, Whitaker and RJJ ahead of him in that timespan.

Well, he went out head over heals, so to speak. His exit will be remembered as well as his signature victory over Tito.
I was never a Hopkins fan. He's an X-con, and could be rather racial in dialog. But there's not doubt he was a very good boxer.

To bad how it ended i was hoping the best for a legend of the ring. You has boxing fan should recognize the legacy. We all criticsize the champions who take it easy but B-Hop took anyone anywhere anytime. What can you ask from a champion?

I didn't see that fight as close at first or after two re-watches. I didn't give Hopkins points for holding, bending over, turning his back, using his shoulder, etc.

Rookie mistake here Leonard Squigman. You don't get credit for SHOULD HAVE or COULD HAVE facts to support your argument. That's equivalent to kids arguing in the playground with "ya so? Ya sO? Ya so? "
Look, Bhop was way better than average and had a fantastic career. I just don't call it a GREAT career because I just don't hand those out to people because they happened to fight in my generation. There were too many hiccups along the way for me to consider him great. I take into account his style, his appeal and his record in big fights. And what you have there is a very good career, not great.
Call me stupid or anything but B-Hop had a great career. Look at the name on his resume!! Joe Calzaghe would of lost a few time if he had so many good name on his resume. So if you judge Hopkins career on is defeat and last 3 years your are just wrong. I agree he never was the most gifted guy but he worked is way to greatness and deserve to recognize has an all time great.
