GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
This is pure evidence that GGG is avoiding Canelo I heard Canelo held his own when they sparred years ago! Why is he turning down these purses?
First it was 10million, now it's 15million.
First it was 10million, now it's 15million.
Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
I don't wanna hear about GGG and Canelo no more until they're fighting each other. All the ongoing negotiations and he said this, he said that bullsh*t can f*ck right off. I'm sick of it.

An offer to fight when, September 2017? You know it's not even January 2017 yet, right?bnovelist wrote:This is pure evidence that GGG is avoiding Canelo I heard Canelo held his own when they sparred years ago! Why is he turning down these purses?

You weirdos must've been born stupid.
Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
Canelo ducked GGG already when he had belt . I would refuse to fight him on principle if I was GGG
Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
When Canelo dropped the belt to run away from GGG to make more money, he pretty much signed a contract with GGG. No matter what Oscar says from now on, he can't run away from GGG. Whether Oscar likes it or not, this is gonna be a at most a 60% split for Canelita.
Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
The fight needs to be fought for a % of the total profits... It's a PPV event that could produce 3 million PPVs... We don't know.
Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
Exactly. This reminds me of Floyd offering Manny a flat $40 million, which is a hell of a lot more, but when you consider PPV profits, $15 million is probably half of what GGG would make if he got a decent PPV share.Kalan wrote:The fight needs to be fought for a % of the total profits... Maybe GGG should take it and say if he wins, the rematch will be just the opposite payout? See how confident team Canelo is.

Golovkin doesn't need yellow stripe boy or his fish net wearing pals and fake offers
Golovkin will continue to make millions of dollars fighting boxers who still have their cajones .
Looking forward to GGG vs Jacobs in March . Finally Jacobs realizes that if you want to fight at 160 and be a real champion you fight Golovkin at 160

A better example of biting off your nose to spite your face does not exist. Canelo is younger with a deeper resume and more draw. GGG needs to fight Canelo.Grailer wrote:Canelo ducked GGG already when he had belt . I would refuse to fight him on principle if I was GGG

I disagree. GingerHead needs to get in the ring and reclaim the missing contents of his nutsac. 3G can just keep holding the MW hill.BitPlayer wrote:A better example of biting off your nose to spite your face does not exist. That's laughable Canelo got rid of the belt ASAP instead of fighting GGG this is after he said Mexican's don't f.ck around or something to that affect

Everyone is scared, so that's why he won't except ODLH's offer or move up to super middle.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:BitPlayer wrote:A better example of biting off your nose to spite your face does not exist. Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
He needs to focus of beating Danny Jacobs first - he may well be a tougher challenge than Canelo.
Providing GGG beats Jacobs, I'd like to see him take a stay-busy fight in May/June against someone like Heiland while signing to fight Canelo in September. Frankly, if he's getting offered $15 million to fight Canelo at 160lb, I think he should take it, if turning it down would risk the fight not happening. If GGG beats Canelo (which I think he would) and especially if he stops him (which I think he would), then his star will grow exponentially to the extent that he could be the biggest name in boxing. All his future fights would be PPV which would make it easier to get big fights, as his opponents would be getting paid better than they have been to date.

Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
dont forget. about 50 % taxes, than manager/promoter costs. training costs.
from 15 million, ggg goes away with maybe 6 million. so ggg should aim for more, if this is the biggest fight in boxing right now, than ggg should not take the first offer, he and his manager should get on a plane to la and talk with oscar directly and aim for 20 +, basicly that after all the cuts ggg goes home with 10 million on his bank account.
even so canelo is the cash cow in this fight, ggg isnt no ppv midget either, he puts asses in seats and ggg-canelo should make very good numbers on ppv, cause it has this mistique to it. so, with all the ppv money and everything canelo should make around 50-100, ggg's 15 is not enough. canelo should make around 70 and ggg around 20, both before taxes.

Re: GGG Turns Down 15 Million Offer From Golden Boy
GGG is a proven seat-seller, but he's not a PPV star yet. I think the best way to think about it is that stadium tickets are bought by hardcore boxing fans, while PPVs are mostly purchased by casual fans. I think it's an open question whether Canelo vs JCC Jr or Canelo vs GGG would sell more. GGG has only had one PPV fight so far in his career and it had 150k buys. While GGG's profile is improving, I think it's unlikely his PPV with Jacobs will sell as many as Canelo's last PPV against an unknown (Smith), while GGG's PPV is a much better, more exciting fight between the #1 and #2 in the division. It's still nine months away and I agree GGG's team should be looking for the best deal possible, but not if it risks the fight not happening at all.Jip wrote:dont forget. about 50 % taxes, than manager/promoter costs. training costs.

In any case, GGG should wait for PPV results of the Jacobs fight and only then make any decisions about a flat fee.jezzamundo wrote:GGG is a proven seat-seller, but he's not a PPV star yet. true. i mean if ggg-jacobs which is a good fight sells good on ppv and ggg can show he can do some good numbers ppv on himself, than he should aim for more than 15, but if nobody buys the fight, than maybe he should take 15.

GGG wants to fight 2 times before September so it doesn't make sense to sign a contract for that fight now.Jip wrote:dont forget. about 50 % taxes, than manager/promoter costs. training costs.

Can't put it past GBP to but some garbage in the contract that says both men can only fight 1 time before fighting each other in Sept. All GBP and Canelo have done since the Cotto fight is BS and con the public.
