Liked it so much I've watched it 3 times.

For best results watch it up til they cut away from round 1 of Rumble in the Jungle to Norman Mailer, THEN
switch to watching the rest of the fight 'live' on Youtube. Even knowing what's going to happen I'm on the edge of my seat.

Facing Ali.

I watched I am Ail recently. Well worth a watch and offers an interesting take on him,
more personal accounts, family and friends and colleague talking about him as a person, as a dad etc
It had personal recorded phone conversations between him and his young children

Perhaps not as interesting to the fight fan as Facing Ali but worth a watch none the less

Glad someone mentioned that. May have partly because i watched it as a teenager and thought it was superb and incredibly atmospheric. Takes on added poignancy given what subsequently happened to Bradley Stone.

A discussion I had over on the Boxing history forum reminded me of an ESPN one I watched a few years back about Carmen Basilio called fighting the mob.

Real good insight into the ugly side of the sports history

I really liked "Clash of the Titans" which was made in about 1999 and chronicled the Benn/Eubank rivalry. It's on youtube I think and well worth a watch if you haven't seen it before. Interesting that Benn had to lose the best part of a stone in a day to make weight for the first fight which may well have had an impact on the result.

Is that not the sequel to Brokeback mountain

Pretty sure Assault in the ring is no longer there. Got mine from EBay.

Finally watched Assault in the Ring tonight.

I actually sympathised with Resto by the end of it. He deserved to go to prison but the guilt he took with him for that fight was sincere and destroyed hos own life. It took great courage to even visit BCjr's family. I also think his corner put him in the position with the gloves/wraps right before the fight as they had money on the fight, he was in a terrible position of either snitching on his own corner to a comissioner who wasn't watching, or just going along with it. The latter option has haunted him since.

Panama though is a fat evil fornicate, who would have thought boxing had lower than Don King. When Resto told him to take of his glasses i was on the edge of my seat willing him to stick one on that fat prick, gutted he caved. Resto went back into his shell, he's an easily manipulated broken man. I wouldn't go as far as to say he's a victim but he's not the real villain.

That taints Pryors whole career in my opinion.

If he said "the one i mixed" then there is simply no way it's just water. Asthmatic drugs that open the lungs makes sense, no way a guy like Resto simply made that up.

Further more i can't believe the Collins family lawsuits failed, the Athletic Commission grossly failed them, wtf were they doing in that locker room? Facing the wall? Taking a shit?

I watched a bizarre youtube video the other night of Larry Holmes apologizing to Rocky Marciano’s brother, that went on for about fifteen minutes. It was interesting.

I watched a BBC documentary on Youtube recently called Kings of the ring.
It was a history of the world heavyweight championship, from Willard to Tyson, I dare say a few will have seen it.

It was few years old and there wasn't much on it I didn't already know. But it was the omissions I found odd.
To start at Willard overlooks probably the biggest talking point in heavyweight history, Jack Johnston.
All they had to do is go back one champion to cover some of the most controversial history of boxing

Equally, at the end, it skipped straight from Ali to Tyson, skipping anyone who contested the title in between.
The glaring omission being Larry Holmes. The only mention he got was coming out of retirement to get spanked by Tyson.
I found the blatant overlooking of one of the most decorated champions in boxing history to be somewhat disrespectful.
