Parker vs Price, April 2017

Post by ValMar »

If this match take place in April next year, do you think it is mismatch ?
Has Price more than 5% chance to win ?

His punch gives him MUCH more than a 5% chance to win.

Of course his chin gives him MUCH less than a 5% chance to win so...

I'd love to see Price knock Parker out.

Would be another waste of time in a woeful HW division where none of the top guys seem interested in fighting each other.

Price still hasn't beaten anyone better than Sam Sexton. I mean, come on.

Solid fight. Price deserves a shot, but I think Parker just has too many skills.

Price deserves a shot? Based on what? Beating Sam Sexton and Matt Skelton 4 years ago?

He deserves a shot because he's lost to guys who have taken PED's. He deserves a fair shot and he's not a bad boxer.

I would say it'd be an easy title defense for Parker, but then again I expected Ruiz to be an easy title win for him too. :maybe:

Same.

I'd try to see the "good" in this fight though; the thing about Parker is he's there to be hit. The thing about Price is his power is massive. I'd heavily favor Parker due to Price's chin of course, but it could be a little intriguing.

He still lost. I like Price, but he needs to beat a fringe contender before fighting for a world title.

He wouldn't be the worst title contender in history and he'd be more of a challenge than a fair few in that WBO top 15, but to say he deserves it is a bit of a stretch.

It would be interesting to see if Price could remain conscious after 4 punches from Parker. Or 1 power punch. Whichever comes first.

Price is a punching bag... The man can't defend himself and it's a certain smashing KO win for Parker... Not an interesting fight. Another dog.

Interesting fight. Price has the punching power to pull the upset.

Price has a big size advantage and is the harder puncher of the two. Couple that with Parker's average-at-best defense and Price has more than a puncher's chance in this fight.

That said, Parker treating Price like he did Dimitrenko - walking him down and stopping him - is surely the most likely outcome. Price is a bigger puncher than Dimitrenko, though, so Parker should show a good measure of caution.

You gotta be kidding me. Price gets knocked out cold within 3 rounds. This guy couldn't even stay in there with Tony Thompson's corpse. Or Erkan Teper. Parker hits like a mule compared to these guys.

Price has power, but how much would he actually throw? He looked scared of Erkan Teper from the start and hardly punched, which meant his power was a non-factor.

Price is able to KO every human being. He is among top 10 heavy-handed fighters, certainly. To be honest, I doubt he can land in a proper way against a skillful fighter, and Parker is very skillful, although I consider him a bit overrated (for me, he is around #8 HW, right now).
Price's punch resistance is another story, very sad story.
So, I feel that Price has 5 % chance to win against Parker.

we haven't seen the Price power for sometime.

the way Teper destroyed him was farcical.

yes, he has a punchers chance but its got to be slim. He literally has to come out blazing from the first bell....he probably wont though...and then its curtains.

Price's ranking is astonishing....he's semi-retired and hasn't won a world class fight EVER in his small career. mind boggling

I wasn't all that impressed with Parker's performance over Ruiz. Too much shucking and jiving for a HW.

I'm sick of hearing about prices world class power. What the fuk is this based on at this point. Yeah he knocked out the journeymen on his way up but has never knocked out anyone at fukin euro level never mind a world class fighter. :bag:

He's fought above British level three times, and his results were a pair of second round KO losses, and a fifth round KO loss. It's hard to take the 'his power makes him a danger to anyone' stuff seriously considering those results, and his hesistancy in actually throwing punches.

Before I will completely write off Price there are 2 things that come to mind. The first is he got beat by 2 drug cheats. Now that might have not made a difference but something to consider. Price has one punch KO power so he has that going for him but since the Teper loss his new coach thought he should put on weight as he was fighting in the 245-250 range. He is now a solid 278-280. Will that slow him down? It may but the key to the weight gain was getting thicker so he could absorb shots better. He put on 30lbs of muscle & he looks a lot more menacing. I am very interested to see how the extra 30lbs does for him against a legit opponent.
