2 very good fighters. But the 2 most over rated heavyweights today.
I would reluctantly pick Ortiz at the moment

Pretty much agree with this although I''d marginally lean towards Joshua. A lot would depend on Ortiz's chin and/or Joshua's stamina, both of which are somewhat unknown at this point.tiny_acres wrote:2 very good fighters. But the 2 most over rated heavyweights today.

I really don't think much of Ortiz. He looked shit against Scott and Allen.
Joshua wouldn't have had Scott out of there in 3 rounds even with Scott running away. And I say that as a guy who doesn't rate AJ at all.

Before he signed with Hearn I was well and truly on the Ortiz Hype train, now I'm not so sure. Think I'd lean towards AJ.

AJ. Shame that Ortiz left it to late. Ignore his reputed age he's about 5 years older and physically on the slide.
Only looked dangerous when on PEDS IMO.

Aj ofcourse, AJ receives about 2 hits a match, mainly on his shoulders, Ortiz about 20 hits a round.

Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
Question - who has the better resume over the past 12 months?
Joshua - Whyte, Martin, Breazeale and Molina?
Ortiz - Jennings, Thompson, Scott and Allen?

I would argue Ortiz, by a comfortable margin.wesshaw1985 wrote:Question - who has the better resume over the past 12 months?

Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
Thompson is beyond shot and Allen is domestic level. Neither remotely impressive about either win.
Ortiz just too old as mentioned above

Yes, Cuban at heavyweight = poor discipline, terrible conditioning etc.sweetscience wrote:Not sure where Ortiz hype came from but just ain't that good imo

Ortiz wants Joshua, if AJ beats Klitschko - http://www.BS.com/luis-ortiz-f ... xt--115139

Scott as well.Naandrew wrote:So was Bryant Jennings
It's pretty crazy how big the step up in competition is, from who Joshua's fought, to fighting Wlad.
Wlad's going to wipe the floor with him.

Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
I get the impression that Ortiz is about 64, but if he isn't, then I might just lean towards him at this stage, although I'm not wholly confident about that prediction.
Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
These forums from a new guys perspective seem to be one extreme to the other, and whoever people are picking either appear to be hugely biased or a bit tunnel visioned in their knowledge.
Errol Spence is not far off regarded as the second coming of the messiah, but someone like AJ is one of the most overrated heavyweights out there. Realistically their careers aren't far away from each other. AJ obviously out performed Spence in London, they've turned pro similar and have fought a similar amount of times, but welterweight has more depth so it's taking Spence a bit longer to get to the top. obviously the individual will have seen things they like/dislike about what each does in their skill set, but to be realistic they're not far off the same level in terms of development.
As for the fight AJ vs Ortiz, I actually think it's a tough match up for Joshua as Ortiz some really tough/durable, so it could well be a gut check situation where we saw how deep AJ can dig. With his power and physical advantages I'd still be fairly confident on the w for AJ
To the person that listed their last 4 fights, there little to choose between them. Only 1 from each (Whyte and Jennings) gave any kind of fight back, the others pretty much were so outclassed they just took their beating

Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
Next question. Why the AJ hate so much on these boards? Or is their just a lot of huge Wlad fans?

I must admit, I don't get it either. A Wlad win:Ossyrules wrote:Next question. Why the AJ hate so much on these boards? Or is their just a lot of huge Wlad fans?
Could bring back another year or two of Wlad and his deathly dull title defences.
Probably makes the chances of Wilder v Joshua happening a little more remote.
Does plenty of damage to the guy who's probably done more to raise the profile of boxing domestically than anyone for a good few years.
I like Wlad; he seems like a great guy. But unless you think he's an absolute dickhead, I don't get the desire from so many to see Joshua get battered.
Re: WHO WINS? Anthony Joshua vs. Luis Ortiz
My thoughts exactly. The neutral should want Joshua as the future of boxing. I find people tend to become attached to old champions. As in they probably hated Wlad in the earlier years when him and Vitali were seeing everyone off, but now there's something sentimental about wanting the old champ to pull it out again.dirk2686 wrote:I must admit, I don't get it either.
