How do you rate Badou Jack?

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

Since winning a world title in 2015 from Anthony Dirrell, which was won via majority decision.

His first defence was a split decision against George Groves

2nd defence was a majority draw against Lucian Bute, which you can argue that Jack won, also Bute tested positive for Ostarine.

Close decision wins..

Is he boring? Will his fight vs. DeGale be a close decision?

I think he's underrated. A solid top 5 fighter, I expect the fight with Degale to be fairly close.

I expect him to beat DeGale... But Jack is not a Top-5 Fighter or Top-12.. He has pretty good overall skills.. He was robbed Blind vs Bute.

I dont rate him very high. Decent B level fighter. DeGale will box his head off.

If I'm being truly honest, I really haven't seen that much of jack. I was away when he fought Groves - so just saw the highlights, like I did with the Dirrell fight. I watched the Bute fight - but that's pretty much it, so it's hard for me to cast an opinion, but what I've seen (which is very little) I think Chunky will win fairly comfortably. Although it could turn out like DeGale v Dirrell, where you feel DeGale will win by a mile and then drift of in the second-half and he let Dirrell back in.

Chunky looked like shit against Medina, awful scorecards helped him. If that Chunky shows up Jack will beat him silly. DeGale has yet to have one full fight where he was focused every round. That kind of shit catches up to you, maybe Jack can exploit that maybe not but someone will.

His performances tend to be less then optimal. But he still should have enough to come out victorious against Jack. Talent gap is too big.

I agree, Badou is pretty basic and DeGale shows flashes of brilliance whilst also showing more athleticism. Let's hope Chunky can put it all together on fight night and show his class.

Top 5 SMW. Good offensive skill still not sure of his chin. I actually thought he should have FOTY in 2015. Beat two guys he wasn't expected to

Never been too impressed. He fought an ancient, shopworn Bute and while he deserved the decision, the fact that it was even remotely close was shocking.

He's also 33 years old now, I think both Groves and Dirrell could potentially beat him in rematches. I think DeGale will beat him decisively. Not a shutout, but a clear decision.

That's what makes this fight intriguing. It's a good matchup DeGale vs. Jack. I'd favor DeGale. Although Jack is more than capable of scoring a upset.

Raw, aggressive kinda guy that gets things done because of his strength and the pressure he puts on guys, but he's not that hard to hit, and as was shown he can be hurt and stopped.

I expect another close fight when he fights Degale. Degale is the more skilled operator so I figure he comes out on top with a close UD or possibly a Split or Majority decision, I figure Degale will outbox him comfortably in the early going, but I can see Jack coming on strong down the stretch of the fight with Degale's stamina issues.

Degale didn't exactly destroy Bute either.

They both should have stopped Bute and they didn't.. They weren't aggressive enough and didn't throw enough.. I agree DeGale is more talented and he's younger too.. He has more power and he's a little faster.. Jack is better schooled in the basics. He's more disciplined.. He'll stay on Degale and he won't and push, and butt and wrestle like Andre Dirrell---who wouldn't have gotten away with that kind of fight in England.. They got rid of those damned stinky Dirrell Bros which is good. I can't stand those jerks their big mouths. They can't fight.

It's be a close competitive fight for 8 or 9 rounds, and than Jack will start coming on with his jab, right hand, and steady pressure.

It's funny, I think that Jack was overrated to start his career. Then he got knocked out and now I think he's underrated and better than people think. A win over JD and that's a pretty strong string of recent victories that he should get credit for and get him back to the top level he was before the KO upset loss he had.

I actually think hes now overated.Hes very basic and can go missing during rounds just like de gale does.I thought George Groves beat him to be honest.De Gale will beat him wide on the cards imo.

IMO, a divisional top 5 fighter. Very underrated on the boxrec computerized rankings, while Groves is a little overrated (won way too many points off of Martin Murray). I suppose I have Ramirez, DeGale, and Jack all in the top 3. Not an elite fighter, given that all 3 of his best wins were very narrow. But certainly world class if he's gone 2-0-1 against borderline world class opposition.

Whaaat the f*ck? You expect him to beat DeGale, but you don't think he's top 12? Like divisional top 12? I certainly don't have him in the top 12 p4p; but if you think he would beat DeGale, after also beating George Groves and Anthony Dirrell, after DeGale beat Bute and Andre Dirrell, and you don't think he's a top 12 super middleweight, then you are absolutely out of your mind. Is your top 12 just the 12 best former Soviet fighters? Chudinov, Satybaldiev, Ustarkhanov, Kashtanov, Bursak, Khamitski, etc.? With a few of Golovkin's former opponents mixed-in, like Martin Murray.
