Next to that, where's Whyte? Where's Takam? Where's Granat? Even Briggs? Or Jun Long Zhang, who at least deserves a spot right now.[/quote]

I think we are more likely to see Parker defend his title against Miller or Fury.

I'm very happy with Miller, Price would be a debacle.

It's actually a lot more about who pays sanctioning fees and holds the international belts. If you're a bum who pays a sanctioning body a fee to fight a bum, then you're going to be higher in the rankings than some elite fighter who has never paid any of the sanctioning fees and doesn't possess any of the world titles. Go ahead and pay the WBO $10k to fight Zack Page for the Youth Mexican Silver Championship, and I can guarantee you that you will be ranked above Povetkin. It is pretty much a ranking of active fighters who have paid the most fees.

What kind of idiot list is that supposed to be? Are they trying to make boxing so f'g obviously absurd that they will drive away everybody?

Nothing in boxing surprises me these days, but how does David Haye get a so-called number one ranking off the back of doing nothing for the best part of five years?

He's been mostly inactive & he's had two fights against two waxwork dummies, then he's gone back to being idle again.

How does that get you a number one ranking?

i was looking at boxing monthly's rankings recently and I noticed a worrying thing.....every boxer in the rankings pretty much hadn't fought anyone else in the rankings. I'd love to return to the days when fighters fought their way up rankings...but they're long gone.

Looking at the WBO rankings...of course they are ridiculous but its not about merit its about money and power.

Wallisch will complete 12 months inactivity in Jan, Gerber in March...do these alphabets even operate an inactivity rule in their rankings? probably not

Since his return David Haye hasn't done enough to earn a Top 10 ranking. Any org ranking him #1 is just a case of blatant corruption and money chasing.

I wouldn't care if Haye is 40 and hasn't had a fight in 5 years... He knocks Parker out... Haye is a good boxer and a hard puncher and he's fast.. I hate his level of activity but he knows what he's doing.. His last 3 fights versus Chisora, Di Mora, and Gjergjaj---not sure that's the correct spelling but it has about that many J's and G's in it---were extremely 1-sided wipe-outs and i hate the Bellew fight too... Haye needs to step it up... I don't know what he's thinking and why he's not fighting contenders.. Joshua will knock him out no matter how much money he gets if he's waiting for that one.
