Eubanks ITV Model
Eubanks ITV Model
Can't help but think with Eubanks senior saying that they are gonna smash the records etc that they are gonna charge like £2.99 for the PPV. I for one would watch it, I don't believe it's a credible world title fight but I do rate jnr. With the platform itv offers a lot of neutrals would buy into because of controversy and seniors reputation. Have him on snapchat and it looks like itv are really hammering in amazing production for adverts etc. I used to pay for small hall shows online through apps and just think that we may have a decent undercard for this . Maybe me being positive. I just love the fact that another place for boxing and would really love it if they took a few scots for the undercard slots. We have a lot of guys up here who really do put it all on the line and deserve a shot at it.

I'd watch it for £2.99
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
I do think people are jumping to conclusions before they have seen all the facts on this PROPOSED fight.
I imagine the people at ITV are not stupid, they are not going to put on a show that has little or no chance of being a success.
Why not wait and see the price of the PPV, the undercard, what other shows are on that evening in the UK and then make some judgements.

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
wonder if a fight like Haye vs. Briggs could land on this platform?
Haye vs. De Mori did 3million viewers on DAVE and earnt Haye a decent sized payday.
Gotto think that at either say £4.99p (for a single fight) or say £9.99p (for a fight card) with a joint campaign by Haye/Briggs, internet and ITV a fight like this could generate at least 1 million buys.
The ITV PPV platform should appeal to fighters with big followings who prefer to go it alone eg Haye, Eubank jr, Khan, Groves and Frampton. Could even lead to somebody like AJ going it alone and taking a bigger slice of the PPV money...

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Eubank is going to make a killing on this and future fights string them along, akin to Hattons WBU reign, his audience will lap it up for a few years, making him a ton of money then maybe a big fight near the end for an even more massive pay check. Genius!
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
If it's got a couple of decent fights on the undercard then so would I, to be honest. You wouldn't need SKY or anything for this, right? Just a normal digital TV?skanksta wrote:I'd watch it for £2.99
God I would love to kill Sky STONE DEAD with this. I never had Sky as a kid or as an adult. I've always hated it. AJ fighting on ITV after he's done his Matchroom contract would be fantastic. Who else is a free agent? Degale? Groves? Haye?
Imagine if the Eubanks do somehow pull off something good out of this?
Not likely but, eh.

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Its a test of the water for itv more than anything. Eubank has burned his bridges everywhere else. They'll see how the numbers go and if ok they'll approach someone bigger and talk with them!
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Eubanks jnr is gonna do well from this in my view, the public took to his dad and watching his interview on IFL he seems a lot more clued up than I thought. In terms of the behaviour of Fast Car and Fish Eyes and isn't gonna be bullied. I would favour him to beat groves and if GG wins that world title we all know he loves the cash and would
Take a fight on ITV with both camps being quite good friends.

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
I get that they are going with the low price but some people simply can't be arsed with the ordering process. It's stupid imo and at 2.99 they may aswell just focus on pushing the ad slots & sponsorships.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Both Hearn and Warren would still work with himThereByTheGrace wrote:Its a test of the water for itv more than anything. Eubank has burned his bridges everywhere else. They'll see how the numbers go and if ok they'll approach someone bigger and talk with them!
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
fact he's Eubanks son sells massive. It's the same as Conor Benn, I watched him in Glasgow and can't believe he'll. e getting paid very handsomely for his fights, I can't even see him getting to area level but of course when you have the backing he has it's possible. I think jnr at least is a very good fighter. I think promotors don't like the fact that senior has been there and done it and won't let them pull his sons pants down.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Yep it's like Eubank Jr says in his latest interview one minute they say they won't work with him he next they are saying the offered him a million quid, although to be fair Hearn has always said he would work with him it's FW who said he wouldn't work with him twice. He then won the purse bid for one fight then tried suing him and then tried to claim he was offering the BJS fight for 7 figures at the same time .emallini wrote:Both Hearn and Warren would still work with himThereByTheGrace wrote:Its a test of the water for itv more than anything. Can't wait for some of the claims in the aftermath. Senior claiming they smashed 1 million buys and Hearn claiming that it didn't do 50k.

How will it work? How will you pay? If it's priced low and easy to obtain it'll probably do well.

If it's successful, why would they simply move on from Eubank Jnr?ThereByTheGrace wrote:Its a test of the water for itv more than anything. Eubank has burned his bridges everywhere else. They'll see how the numbers go and if ok they'll approach someone bigger and talk with them!
Anything that sees more money going in to the fighters pockets as opposed to promoters or TV companies is great by me!

His dad was enigmatic and intriguing. Junior on the other hand is nothing new and arrogant at best. His rant about 'haters' who had a go at him for fighting for the IBO says it all.
Can't see the public buying into it for more than a couple of fights.

Thing is £2.99 is sound but if it sells well it will just rise and rise.

obviously anyone who pays itv is an idiot
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Agreed, I haven't seen anything from him that suggests he'll ever be a top 3/4 guy at his weight. He talks a far better game than he produces in the ring. Few of them about thoughfightfaninfrance wrote:His dad was enigmatic and intriguing. Junior on the other hand is nothing new and arrogant at best. Disagree about being top 4 at his weight, bjs was a punch bag last 5 rounds and his tactics were wrong but he was
More than capatable of beating Saunders, chudunov he destroyed and going down to British level just showed everyone how far above he is than all these domestic lads as in the Doran and Blackwell fight it was concerning how one sided it was. He would have stopped Langford also despite what anyone says. I hate all the talking he does but I believe somewhere behind it all we may well have a champion there

The undercard has got some decent fights, Robbie Davies v Limond could be a cracker.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
I can't believe that ANY of my fellow boxrec members/friends are giving credence to this absolute joke. Who on earth is advising ITV executives on this. We all want ITV to be involved again but having Eubank face a complete and utter no hoper on , for goodness sake please tell me it's a joke, on PPV? Are they crazy?
ITV should be paying ME to watch this farce. Have they seen how well SKY are doing with robbing us blind with PPV, and thought, oh, that's a great idea, let's have some of this.
However, I have a gut feeling that the BBC might be on the way back with boxing. The main news at six had a long section on the Joshua v Klitschko fight las week , something they usually ignore. Has someone in the newsroom heard a whisper?
