Richard Poxon, formerly of Hatton promotions, is seemingly involved. Assume therefore we will see Adam Etches on the undercard. A future opponent for Jnr there maybe.

That's exactly what his father did 20 years ago.Rexob wrote:Eubank is going to make a killing on this and future fights string them along, akin to Hattons WBU reign, his audience will lap it up for a few years, making him a ton of money then maybe a big fight near the end for an even more massive pay check. He wouldn't hear the names of Michael Nunn, James Toney or RJJ in his presence & instead fought a collection of bums that he even struggled against.
And he robbed Raymond Close twice, to the extent that the unjustified nature of the verdict caused a riot at ringside which police were able to get under control after almost an hour.

This, I think if its priced like £1.99 with the undercard being on itv4 its a good thing still work out cheaper per fight than sky subscriptionbelta53 wrote:I do think people are jumping to conclusions before they have seen all the facts on this PROPOSED fight.
I imagine the people at ITV are not stupid, they are not going to put on a show that has little or no chance of being a success.
Why not wait and see the price of the PPV, the undercard, what other shows are on that evening in the UK and then make some judgements.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
I think Chris snr has even said that he Eubank was the attraction and it didn't really matter who he fought as the people came to see him and he strung it out as far as possible, making a load of cash in the process, which is probably true.Crease wrote:That's exactly what his father did 20 years ago.Rexob wrote:Eubank is going to make a killing on this and future fights string them along, akin to Hattons WBU reign, his audience will lap it up for a few years, making him a ton of money then maybe a big fight near the end for an even more massive pay check. Robbie Davies v Willie Limond isn't on the under card. It's a fight in its own right being shown free on ITV4 on the 21St January live from Preston Guild Hall.samwbr wrote:He's right about 'haters' he gets absolute dogs abuse on social media.fightfaninfrance wrote:His dad was enigmatic and intriguing. Junior on the other hand is nothing new and arrogant at best. His rant about 'haters' who had a go at him for fighting for the IBO says it all.
Can't see the public buying into it for more than a couple of fights.
The undercard has got some decent fights, Robbie Davies v Limond could be a cracker.

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
But Eubank jnr isn't Eubank and so far the evidence doesn't really suggest people will turn up in their droves to watch him fight regardless who he's fighting. Senior also had major domestic rivalries in the shape of Watson and Benn; I think we can look back on some fights and see contests which weren't actually as big as we remember them when compared to the genuine superfights against the aforementioned.Rexob wrote:I think Chris snr has even said that he Eubank was the attraction and it didn't really matter who he fought as the people came to see him and he strung it out as far as possible, making a load of cash in the process, which is probably true.Crease wrote:That's exactly what his father did 20 years ago.Rexob wrote:Eubank is going to make a killing on this and future fights string them along, akin to Hattons WBU reign, his audience will lap it up for a few years, making him a ton of money then maybe a big fight near the end for an even more massive pay check. Not listed now , fight off ?

Adam Etches is nowhere near good enough to fight Eubank Jr, nor will he ever be.Black Sam Bellamy wrote:Richard Poxon, formerly of Hatton promotions, is seemingly involved. Assume therefore we will see Adam Etches on the undercard. A future opponent for Jnr there maybe.

You might as well open your front door and throw £2.99 down the street if you think this is worth paying for.

Is flushing it down the toilet also acceptable?ScottDetonator wrote:You might as well open your front door and throw £2.99 down the street if you think this is worth paying for.

Aye. Both are possibly better forms of entertainment as well.....DannyMCR wrote:Is flushing it down the toilet also acceptable?ScottDetonator wrote:You might as well open your front door and throw £2.99 down the street if you think this is worth paying for.

Etches probably fits right in with Doran, Jeter, and Quinlan

I seen something about that yesterday but wasn't sure if it was a piss take,i pay for all the PPVs even this rubbish ones on Primetime a few years back but I can safely say ITV and the Eubank's can bolt,i quite like Jr but his dad for all his achievements in the ring seems intent on ruining his sons career, trouble is Jr might only realise after its too late, promoters all around the world may only work with him if his dad is out of the pictureScottDetonator wrote:http://www.worldboxingnews.net/2016/12/ ... -for-money

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
ITV has never struck me as being run by particularly intelligent individuals, but surely it wouldn't be so stupid as to charge £20 for this. Most likely it's just Eubank Sr tweeting rubbish as usual.handsofstone wrote:I seen something about that yesterday but wasn't sure if it was a piss take,i pay for all the PPVs even this rubbish ones on Primetime a few years back but I can safely say ITV and the Eubank's can bolt,i quite like Jr but his dad for all his achievements in the ring seems intent on ruining his sons career, trouble is Jr might only realise after its too late, promoters all around the world may only work with him if his dad is out of the pictureScottDetonator wrote:http://www.worldboxingnews.net/2016/12/ ... -for-money

Re: Eubanks ITV Model
In a way, I hope they do charge £20 for it. That way it's almost guaranteed to fail. It might make ITV think twice about PPB again.Boxerbeetle wrote: ITV has never struck me as being run by particularly intelligent individuals, but surely it wouldn't be so stupid as to charge £20 for this. Though, that's probably optimistic.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Even when Eubank Jr. was fighting on undercards on Channel 5, I was saying he needs to get shot of his dad. His dad tended to elbow his way into his son's interviews, and spend more time posing than doing anything useful.handsofstone wrote: I seen something about that yesterday but wasn't sure if it was a piss take,i pay for all the PPVs even this rubbish ones on Primetime a few years back but I can safely say ITV and the Eubank's can bolt,i quite like Jr but his dad for all his achievements in the ring seems intent on ruining his sons career, trouble is Jr might only realise after its too late, promoters all around the world may only work with him if his dad is out of the picture
It's reached far past a point I ever thought it would though. English's ridiculous need to pretend he's some wise boxing sage is ruining his son's relationship with promoters and turning Jr. into a joke in the eyes of fans.
Not sure Jr. sees it though.
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
The basics are there ,, Jnr is a crowd puller ,, people respond to the Eubank name ,,,,, It all correct , but he is a bit deluded has to how much ,, The way he is going is OK and all is good ,, but first he should off kept his mouth shut and let Frank or Eddie build him up
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
I think this is the problem with Team Eubank.coneye wrote:The basics are there ,, Jnr is a crowd puller ,, people respond to the Eubank name ,,,,, It all correct , but he is a bit deluded has to how much ,, The way he is going is OK and all is good ,, but first he should off kept his mouth shut and let Frank or Eddie build him up
They understand the importance of celebrity in this day and age. They know that there are a lot of people that are casual fans who will pay to watch boxing, without knowing too much about it. Jr. will be able to tap into that market, as his surname is Eubank, and people will want to watch him.
The Eubanks problem is that they wildly overestimate this. I think they legitimately think that GGG should've bent over backwards to make the fight. GGG was the champ, the worldwide name. But no, it was Team Eubank that should've been calling the shots, in their opinions. He's burned bridges with Hearn, after already burning bridges with Warren.
Okay, convincing ITV to go PPV for a fight where Jr. is fighting some absolute nobody could be seen as a coup. But how long will it last? What's going to happen when Team Eubank try to line up a decent opinion? Does he have the credibility now he's arsed off so many people in the fight game?
Re: Eubanks ITV Model
Surely this has to be ITV testing the waters of there PPV platform and model?
That's how I see it anyway, as surely anyone with a brain never mind one of the largest television production outfits on the planet can see that these type of mismatch 'events' will flop at box office.
Hopefully this is just them testing there model and we will see proper meaningful fights, it's good to have terrestrial TV back involved but if they won't be delivering good fights then it's pointless.
