I'd like to see him step back up now; he started his career fast with Cloud, but has stagnated a bit.
He fought the corpse of Cloud. They knew that was a sure win.
Cloud was past his best, but I think he was still significantly better than the type of opponent most prospects are fighting after a year pro. Beterbiev looked on quite the fast track at that point, but he's only had 5 bouts in the subsequent 27 months and his opposition hasn't climbed much.
He's clearly well beyond the likes of Prieto, Maderna, and shopworn Campillo, and should be looking upward now; I like the suggestion of Sullivan Barrera for his next opponent.
Beterbiev punches harder... And he can box 3 X better.
Beterbiev gets 11 fights in 42 months and Mike Tyson got 28 fights and the Heavyweight Championship in 18 months. That's how you do it. The way you match a big puncher is very progressively and very often. They don't get many rounds in when they do fight so they need more fights to progress and stay sharp.
The guy has beat no one and now all of a sudden he stops Ward, Kovalev and Adonis, all before his morning run.
Give it a rest man
The guy has talent and obvious power but we are talking guys who have proven themselves at the very pinnacle of the sport. Beterbiev has proven nothing.
He wouldn't last 10 secomds with Errol Spence is all I'm saying

Until he steps up in competition. I just consider him another Boxrec flavor of the month.

That first knock down was awesome. That right hand came out of nowhere. I replayed it like ten times. It takes a talented fighter to throw that kind of punch.

Don't be stupid. Spence wouldn't enter a ring with Beterbiev, knowing he'd get annihilated.. That's worse than Mayweather trying to fight Golovkin. Wouldn't happen.. And Beterbiev was matched with Kovalev over a year ago, but Al Haymon vetoed the fight.. Maybe Kovalev would be a little early but Usyk had 9 fights when he went for the Cruiserweight Title and won it handily.. Beterbiev beat Kovalev twice as an amateur and sure as Hell looks damned good

Not recognising sarcasm is one thing Kalan
But when the post above points out it was a joke?
Ha ha the trail of irony in this is a thing to behold.
Enjoying the Spence quip was a good start, followed by the rant about Spence v Beterbiev was priceless.
