Very interesting they havent said how much it will be.
I cant see how they can charge any more than a few quid for it.
Enjoyed that interview though. Very clear that the Eubank's really did mess up the whole Golovkin situation despite what Junior says.
I do like him as a fighter so be great to see him in against BJS and some of the other middleweight contenders.

Got his head screwed on that lad. Like him.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
He's right in what he says, on all accounts really. Everyone hunks he should ditch his dad but what do they know? They don't know what goes on. Personally I've been to a couple of his fights live and even when chisora and fury pulled out of the rematch the Eubanks entering a pretty empty MEN arena absolutely lit the place up it made the night.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
They may well be called hero's in a few years .. There refusing to ass lick the promoters , reilize they are the attraction not fast Eddie , regardless how much he stands in front of the IFL cameras , telling Kugan what to ask him ... They want the lions share and so they should , and could be the opening for other networks to pay hold ppv cards and stick it up sky ,, This i think will encourage more big name boxers to seek out there own platforms ,,, I could well see Groves , and a few others following the Haye , Eubank trend
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
Very nice to finally hear from CEJ after all what has gone on in the last 12 months. He's very well spoken, and he comes across well. What actually went on though is anyone's guess. I wouldn't be surprised if Hearn offered the fight to Kell because he wasn't getting the deal he wanted with CEJ.
That said, him pissing off Matchroom AND BN, there's definitely some common ground. Sounds like Hearn and Matchroom are easy to work with, and get things done, and the Eubanks don't, so what would you rather have? Fights made, or the 'perfect' deal? I think one works, and the other doesn't.

Jnr is a rocket. He's done nothing above Euro level, yet speaks as if he'd beat Golovkin, came out with all his "no towels in our corner shite" months after being involved (through no fault of his own) in a near death incident, tweets straight out of the corniest rent a quote book to hand and seems to think he can wander into PPV bills at the drop of a hat. His defence of the IBO belt was laughable to the extent of being cringeworthy.
This is a meaningless fight which looks even worse given he's had opportunities to fight Saunders , Golovkin and Jacobs

Whether you like it or not, the power will almost always be with networks, the road on your own is gona always be difficult even if you're really good. I don't think it's particularly clever for any UK boxer to be 'difficult' with Hearn/Warren in the current climate. I always think, take less money at the start play the game a bit, then you can build yourself into a big power position a la Hatton.coneye wrote:They may well be called hero's in a few years .. We've seen other boxers in the last 10 years try and go to ITV etc, Hennessy, Froch et al and it didn't end up working out as well as they'd hoped. ITV/Channel 5 can't really be relied on whereas Sky/BN are a safer bet right now.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
I didn't even know who this Renold Quinlan was, but I see on his record he's KO'd Geale in his last fight. Geale looks shot probably, but it's still a big name on his record I guess, that is arguably better than any opponent on Eubank Jnr's win list.

It's a massive coup for Eubank sr. He's got the biggest platform of all and will make more money on ITV than he would have got with Hearn or Frank. ITV seem like they will be loyal to Eubank and you can't blame them after what he did for boxing on terrestrial TV. ITV won't have to worry about exciting fights. Eubank Jr is no Audley.
If he set up a small promotions company he could probably get a fair few fighters to sign with him. Given all the things Haye has said about Hearn and Warren, I wouldn't be surprised to see Haye and Eubank form some kind of alliance and bring ITV back into boxing. If there's one person in British boxing who will have been delighted to hear that ITV are back, it's Haye.

I think fighters like Haye, Groves, Frampton and Khan will be in contact with ITV at some point in the near future to see what the station can do for them...TheLeprechaun wrote:It's a massive coup for Eubank sr. This is a huge opportunity for Quinlan...............This is why I love boxing you can be unheralded and still get your chance good luck Renold
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
Jr will pick up this belt and parade it as a legit world title just like his dad did and avoid all the best fighters just like his dad did.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
Some pearlers in that. He's an interesting character.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017

He's a well educated chap who talks well but talk's cheap. He's clever enough to know that his dad is a fvcking halfwit with regard to business and shouldn't be let anywhere near a negotiating table. By indulging his dad's successful businessman fantasies he also conveniently provides himself with a ready made excuse for failing to sign up for meaningful fights.
He won't fight anybody who's anywhere near world level nor does he deserve to really based on his career so far.

Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
I was thinking about this. This could work out well for Junior financially. This is ITVs first go at a PPV. Charge a couple of quid and check their systems work in a low risk, low interest event and then get him in with the likes of GGG and they could put it on PPV and get millions of sales as they promote it to death on a channel everyone has.
Surely an ITV PPV would sell more than a sky one as the market share is so much larger?
That's not me sticking up for this being on PPV btw as it's a joke of a fight.

English has set his son up with an ITV deal that no other so called professional promoter could even dream of getting to me this is a bold gesture to anybody and great business aquamin.

This. I never get why eubanks Snoozers and gifts are glossed over when people discuss his career. He turned in some dismal efforts in some of those defencesNaandrew wrote:Jr will pick up this belt and parade it as a legit world title just like his dad did and avoid all the best fighters just like his dad did.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
Eubank was the attraction not his opponents the fans went to see him it didnt matter who he was fighting, fans pay for tickets which means money and lots of it, Its prize fighting ffs, people seem to get mixed up with some rose tinted view of the sport and forget what its really about?Stevieb8006 wrote:This. The interview with Senior is the best ifilm interview I've seen. I like the way Chris takes over, he's a real character. Having said that, Kugan does a good job as well with his questions.
Re: Chris Eubank jr vs. Renold Quinlan - February 2017
True but it still doesn't disguise the fact that Senior wanted no part of numerous world level fighters.Rexob wrote:Eubank was the attraction not his opponents the fans went to see him it didnt matter who he was fighting, fans pay for tickets which means money and lots of it, Its prize fighting ffs, people seem to get mixed up with some rose tinted view of the sport and forget what its really about?Stevieb8006 wrote:This. Not to mention he looked really awful vs binmen, getting blatantly favourable refereeingNaandrew wrote:True but it still doesn't disguise the fact that Senior wanted no part of numerous world level fighters.Rexob wrote:Eubank was the attraction not his opponents the fans went to see him it didnt matter who he was fighting, fans pay for tickets which means money and lots of it, Its prize fighting ffs, people seem to get mixed up with some rose tinted view of the sport and forget what its really about?Stevieb8006 wrote: This. I'm not sure why just cos he was a draw and made money, his abilities as a fighter should be held in higher esteem and his woeful performances overlooked. By that methodology, Chavez Jr will be HOF worthy.
