Probably the best division in boxing at the moment?

No, not really. Walters, Lomachenko, Gonzalez, and Salido leaving really hit the division bad. It's solid, but Selby, Cuellar, and Warrington are pretty bad.

If Rigo move up, and Loma (and Salido) get back....

This seems to get overlooked constantly when people are talking about the best/most competitive weight classes.
I actully wish Loma had stuck around there

Lot's of excitement either side of the Atlantic, plenty of domestic rivalries.

I watched Valdez last few fights the other week, well impressed with the lad, seems to have flown under my radar somewhat

Heavy has people split but I certainly am excited about it IF the big fights get made.

Cruiser gets over looked and I'm not sure it's packed with what you would class elite level talent, but it's competitive and the big fights do get made, gotta love the 200lbers

Welter again seems to get a bit of a hard time, I think people shit on it because it's lost Floyd and JMM, Manny and Bradley are aging and losing their appeal. But look at the guys still there, there's plenty of talent in the top 10, some good prospects coming through and Crawford will add something special to the division just shortly. It'll probably once again be the weight class with more p4p top 20 fighters in the sport

I agree mate, loads of bigger fights for him at 126, perhaps he struggled with the weight but I'd love to see him move back down and take on one of our lads!

lh is the best division in boxing. followed by ww, hw and cw

i mean bertebiev, gvozdyk, kovalev, these dudes are future atg at lh. than you have ward, adonis, smith, egor, fonfara, pascal. just a deep amount of quality in this division.

Why do people keep saying WW and HW? I wouldn't even have either in the top 5 best divisions.

Cruiserweight
Super Flyweight
Light Heavyweight
Super Featherweight
Featherweight? (not sure on this one, though)

HW is pretty awful at the moment. You have a guy like Joshua who hasn't beaten anyone taking up the top 10. Then you have shot Chisora and Whyte taking up the top 15. Stiverne, Hammer, Duhaupus, etc. taking spots in the top 15. Not a good nor deep division at all. Welterweight is better, but even then, it's not great at the moment.

Heavyweight is probably the most wide open division in 2017. You've got like 8 or 9 guys at the top who are all roughly equally good; and even dudes like Ruiz who didn't seem to be a factor are threatening to topple dudes in the top tier. Plus, Whyte may or may not be close to good enough to be a top guy if he gets in 1 or 2 well-organized training camps. He already narrowly beat someone who was borderline top 10, and that's without any real sort of a push behind him.

Cotto is inactive and will be rusty - we don't yet know if he's shot. I only had him losing to Canelo (who is rated as Top 10 p4p by many ) by 2 rounds and he was very clearly the smaller man in that fight.

Anyway, he has passed his prime....And I am not sure about his natural weight division...

a division is only competitive if the top fighters compete against each other... lets hope the fights get signed and the bouts actually come off... all divisions included

Hard to argue with Super Flyweight thanks to elite talent like Inoue, Gonzalez, Estrada, Cuadras, as well as a back up list of Yafai, Kono, Concepcion, Srisaket, Ancajas, McJoe Arroyo, Casimero, Ishida, Koki Eto, Norasing, Rex Tso, Jamie Conlan, Palicte and Oleydong

Sadly with Gonzalez, Casimero and Estrada all moving up in 2016 Flyweight has been left decimated by a lack of talent with only Ioka, Nietes and Shiming being names many will recognise
