Guzman vs. Oguni
Guzman looking ripped and according to reports very confident:
http://boxingnews.jp/news/43781/
I'm going out on a limb and predicting the Oguni upset here.
Thoughts?

Guzman has got to be motivated after he lost his entire purse from his last fight.

I think he'll simply be too strong and powerful. Oguni has iimpressed me since the draw with Ishimoto and seem more confident in his power, but Guzman is a different beast to Mike Tawatchai

Sorry, yeah was thinking of the draw with Furuhashi, who has looked shop worn since (the two Ishimoto Vs Furuhashi bouts were among my favourites of recent times, great atmosphere and action, fantastic mash of styles as well)Cutman Scabbers wrote:Oguni beat Ishimoto, right?Boxing Prospect wrote:I think he'll simply be too strong and powerful. Re: Guzman vs. Oguni
Just watched this. Thought it was close but the knockdown did it for Oguni. Brilliant body shot and he used good bodywork throughout the fight. I didn't think the shot in round 11 was a low blow actually.
Looks to have a decent chin as well and didn't let Guzman overwhelm him like he at times to wake.
Still want to see Guzman around world level again he is a good fighter to watch.

I'll take Oguni over Iwasa as well.
Re: Guzman vs. Oguni
Great fight, just seen it today. As I saw it Oguni knocked him out with a body shot in the 11th. Legal punch, that. Guzman bought himself some recovery time and clearly does not like it to the body.Naandrew wrote:Just watched this. Thought it was close but the knockdown did it for Oguni. Hammered out a deserving win, there.
Along with the Ioka win over Stamp, you seldom see such great, sustained body punching on one fight card. (Not seen the other bouts yet)
Ready to check out Oguni's wars with Shingo Wake, Yasutaka Ishimoto and if I can find it on DVD Gakuya Furuhashi. Heard there was a great fight between Ishimoto and Furuhashi also. Love the brutal domestic Japanese scene.

There wasn't much else on that show other than Omori vs Fuentes.Autobarn wrote:Great fight, just seen it today. As I saw it Oguni knocked him out with a body shot in the 11th. Legal punch, that. Both of the Ishimoto vs Furuhashi bouts were great, and Ishimoto vs Fujihara was great too, AMAZING atmosphere for that one. If you can find Oguni vs Ishimoto or Oguni vs Furuhashi on DVD could you lemme know.
If you can find Kenji Ono vs Jun Takigawa that's fornicating amazing!
Re: Guzman vs. Oguni
so many outstanding fights in Japan. Yamanaka v Moreno 2, and the final round of Hasegawa v Hugo Ruiz, and the Ioka v Reveco rematch.Boxing Prospect wrote:There wasn't much else on that show other than Omori vs Fuentes.Autobarn wrote:Great fight, just seen it today. Heard also Amagasa, who gave Josh Warrington that exciting battle in England, vs Demecillo was also very good and Jonathan Barros vs Hosono also.
I did find Oguni vs Wake and Ishimoto, Ishimoto v Fujihara, and Ono v Takigawa on DVD. (And older domestic classics like Yamanaka v Iwasa, Miura v Yashiro 1 & 2 & Kobore, etc). They're good quality but I'm not sure what territory you are, and if you have Pal or NTSC format.

I'm in a PAL region (UK) but I would find a way to fiddle and get the NTSC stuff working.Autobarn wrote:so many outstanding fights in Japan. Yamanaka v Moreno 2, and the final round of Hasegawa v Hugo Ruiz, and the Ioka v Reveco rematch.

Talking about good domestic fights Fuchigami Vs Ebisu, Fuchigami Vs Sato, Tadashi Vs Linares, Masuda Vs T. Takahashi and going back a bit further N. Takahashi Vs Horikoshi/Imazato/Shimabukuro,
The Amagasa vs Demecillo and Barros Vs Hosono bouts are on youtube (if you know how to find them)
