Luke Campbell's Workout (& Future)

Post by Taansend »

I was just perusing Mens Health UK for some ideas on circuits I can do for the 3 or 4 days before my interest dissipates in the New Year when I came across this....

http://www.menshealth.co.uk/workout/luk ... s-circuits

Anyway, it got me thinking about young Luke (well not so young as he'll be 30 in September). How far can he go? Is there any news on his next opponent or plan for 2017.

I'm guessing that if Crolla manages to beat Linares in the rematch Hearn will try to fit in a fight between Crolla & Campbell in an arena somewhere Oop North in the summer. Leeds would have been great if Warrington was still around. I mean the boxer not the town. As far as I know Warrington is still nestled safely between Manchester & Liverpool. I mean the town not the boxer.

But does anyone more informed than me have any clue or ideas as to what's next? I'd love to see a rematch with Mendy (or would I?).

He wanted to fight Scott cardle for the British title because no one from Hull has won it. He offered him on Twitter and Cardle was up for it.

However as expected Joe Gallagher quickly shot down the idea in Twitter and as seen in numerous interviews is terrified of the thought.

Hearn has said he will announce his next fight today but then again he does this all the time and announces it a week or so later.

If it's not Cardle the fight he wants. It has to be Mendy NO EXCUSES.

I think he will defend his commonwealth title against Joe murray ( got no inside knowledge just a guess murray was vocal on twitter about Campbell and cardle he also pulled out of a British eliminator . )

Cardle and his team won't give Sean Dodd another fight so no surprise that they're reluctant to fight Campbell.

Yeah just found it no one asking for his opinion just instantly dismissing it to protect his man.

Can't find the IFL interview he pulled out the classic 'He's going a different route card'

Very clear from the above that is the fight Luke wants.

I'm not particularly sold on Campbell, but he'd totally outclass Cardle.

Eddies been very clear he is interested in that fight happening. Dodd shifts good tickets and would more valuable to him as a fighter as he can put him on Echo arena shows to add to the attendances.

Joe Murray v Cardle makes perfect sense to me. I would assume Joe Murray hates Gallagher the same way His brother and trainer John does so that adds to IFL views Twitter beef etc etc.

Yeah I'd like to see cardle murray but with the history of Murrays and Joe Gallagher go against Joe in the fight being made.

Wouldn't mind seeing him beat the seven shades of shite out of that little prick Cardle then avenge the Mendy loss if he can.

Absolutely mate. I think Cardle and Gallagher feel like they've scraped past him twice and aren't sure if their luck will last into a third fight.

Cardle vs Campbell should happen just like Smith vs Fielding. The only reason Gallagher does not want the fight is he knows Campbell will win. I asked Hearn about making this fight earlier in the year and he said Cardle team turned it down, this was before both fighters said they wanted it on twitter. IMO he should blackball Cardle if does not take the fight, fighters like him can not be dictating who they fight especially with his boring style and the fact that he sold 18 tickets last time he was in Scotland. If he want to fight on Skysports is should be against Campbell next.

In the build up to the Crolla fight John didn't hold back on his opinions. Could tell it was genuine the way he was speaking.

Hearn waited far too long to do the Coyle fight. That should have happened in Campbell's first year as a pro. With Luke's age and amateur experience he should have been fighting for a world title in his first two years as a pro.
