Breazeale v Szpilka

Post by Taansend »

Dominic Breazeale will face Artur Szpilka on the undercard of Deontay Wilder's next bout.

This should be an interesting battle. Breazeale is bigger but Szpilka the more skilled.

I'm leaning towards the Pole in this one.

Talking of polls.....

Should make for a decent fight. Szpilka showed chin deficiencies early on in his career, and if nothing else Domonic "the walking punchbag" Breazeale showed that he can eat some shots. I wonder if the big fella might wear the pole down late after dropping the early rounds?

I'll be a hipster and vote DB.

Both lads seem to have a bit of heart so it'll definitely be worth watching on YouTube in the morning (no way would I stay up to stream a Wilder fight).

I fancy Breazeale by late stoppage, which will set up an all american clash with Wilder.

Szpilka by a few rounds. He is quicker and far more skilled than Breazeale but the big fella is tough so I can see it going the distance.

Yeah Szpilka's not a huge puncher either, but I agree he should be able to outbox Breazeale most of the way. A big overhand right KO by Breazeale is his only real shot.

It could be billed as "Battle Of The Big, Athletic, But Not Particularly Skilled Heavyweights".

Wilder fights on Showtime so I should be able to see it if I get home from work in time.

Unless he jumps on him early on & roughs him up. Szpilka is coming back from highlight reel kayo loss so may not be up for a gruelling war.

It's not really Breazeale's style but could be a key for this fight. A loss pretty much spells the end of title ambitions for either man.

Actually, that's not f*cking true at all  There's so many titles around that the loser could go straight into a title shot

Szpilka in my book. He showed good skills v Wilder and getting KO'd by Deontay doesn't mean be has a bad chin.

A great match up.

A neat little fight, if Szpilka can fight half as well as he did against Wilder he'll win easily.

I think Szpilka was flattered by his bout with Wilder (same goes for Molina).

Szpilka was outclassed and stopped by Jennings, got put on his ass in multiple fights against Mike Mollo, and really doesn't have a notable win other than his decision over shopworn Adamek, who had lost more convincingly to lacklustre Glazkov before that. I'm slightly leaning toward the big lump catching up to AS, though he's got marked limitations in speed and defense, and I can easily see Szpilka outboxing him for a UD.

Also on the card is Travis Kauffman v Amir Mansour. Another interesting battle. Mansour was battering Breazeale. I was shocked when he quit as I didn't know about the injury.

Both boxers are better then Wawrzyk, just like in Wilder his last fight against Arreola, where one of the guys on the undercard was also clearly better then Arreola.

I expect Szpilka to win on dicision, he's got a slightly worse stamina in the later rounds and a slightly less hard punch, but he's more skilled.

At first I thought Breazeale was worth more in Scrabble but then I realised that Szpilka is.
