Hayashi seems to be giving Shimoda a bit of a working over here in the Japanese Featherweight title fight, nasty cuts around Shimoda's face

Fingers crossed if this is a success (AKA get people watching!) they will do it more often, it's a great idea from CBC and hopefully it's a success, at least for the main event (6am UK time for the main event is a touch early I feel...). They said they are showing this as they had a lot of requests so maybe wer all need to pester Fuji TV ;)

These guys both look like theyve put a lot into this...Shimoda seemed to be gaining some momentum after getting his butt whooped in the 7th, but then Hayashi dropped him with a right hand

Close cards, 95-94 twice and 97-94 all to Hayashi, thought it was a little wider myself but right guy won, Shimoda showed plenty of toughness and spirit late though

Boxmob poll (Japanese fan site that Cutman Scabbers uses) had 137 votes.
71% went with Shimoda, 1% draw 27% Hayashi.
Shimoda TKO was 39%, Shimoda decision was 32%, Hayashi decision was 15% and Hayahsi TKO 12%

Thought Hayashi should have been the favourite personally as the fight was promoted by his promoter, Hatanaka, and took place in Gifu and not Tokyo

And no commentary? Score!

Now I can hear the sounds of the fight without having to listen to any blabbering

Edit: so there actually is commentary

Tanaka looks the boss here, Fuentes not sure how to cope with the speed

Huge third for Tanaka, as he pummels Fuentes on the ropes. Fuentes is really struggling with the speed, and might have a broken nose.

Tanaka is outclassing him through 4

I think the 3rd was a 10-8 round even without a KD

Still needs to smarten up defensively but this is probably the best I've seen Tanaka over all

Tanaka drops and stops him in the 5th

Monster performance from the youngster. Defensively there are some holes to close, but overall very nice stuff.

He's a hell of a lot better at 108 than he was at 105 this time last year.

Seen bits of his world title win after and the fight he got dropped in. After all a 19yo winning world title caught my attention.

Didn't think he that special until this fight. Shown maturity way beyond his young age and has more spite in his punches with a few extra lbs.

It's good they push guys in the Far East but at 21 I hope they slow him down a bit until he really gets his full man strength. By the time he is 24-25 and at super fly/bantam he could be a real elite fighter.
