Kosei Tanaka is a bad little man

Post by 5burowz »

Picked up his second world title in as many weight classes and he did it in only his 8th pro fight.

That is freaky stuff right there.

He destroyed Fuentes.

:TU:

Was praising him on another thread.

Was not that impressed with him before but thought he looked the real deal today against a legit opponent at the weight class. He carries more power in his punches at the higher weight aswell.

By the time he hits his mid twenties and settled at superfly he could be among boxings elite.

Pretty special fighter.

I thought this deserved consideration for best comeback of the year:

He made Fuentes look like a clueless novice; I was expecting a much more competitive fight.

I remember lauding him around the time of his debut, the stories out of Japan (mostly from Mr Hatanaka) was that he could win a world title in 3 fights... looks like he is improving with age.

If you've never seen his fight with Ryuji Hara THAT is a brilliant fight, incredible high speed chess with Tanaka proving lots there. He's looked better as he's gone up in weight, and looks like he's maturing wonderfully.

Hoepfully his brother, Ryomei Tanaka, turns professional in 2018 as he's a top talent too
