It would be a pretty easy night for Brook I reckon a similar fight to Canelo with Khan starting off well, then with Brook figuring Khan out and knocking him cold within 6 rounds.

Eddie Hearn @EddieHearn - 2 hours ago
He is correct - at 70-30 we don't want the fight

Amir Khan ‏@amirkingkhan - 2 hours ago
Eddie I'm the A side and you and kell know he will make more then he did against GGG. Don't you agree

Eddie Hearn ‏@EddieHearn - 2 hours ago
And on 50-50 you will make more than you did v Canelo

looks like 60-40 in Khans favour may get this over the line...

This is why boxing is such an infuriating sport, and why people turn to UFC.

Make it 50-50 and lets get on with it!

UFC has nothing to do with it. You think Mcgregor's opponents are picking up an equal payday when they fight him?

It just feels, admittedly from an outside view looking in, that fighters cant duck as much or hide behind purse splits in UFC.

There's less money on offer for individual fights, so they can't afford to prat around for 6 months talking shite about one another.

No, but they probably make more than they would fighting anybody else.

If you watch MMA closely enough you will find out that the guys that have leverage use it.
Brook/Hearn want 50/50, Khan wants 70/30, if the fight is to happen they will meet somewhere in the middle.
Imagine you were in the power position, would you simply settle for 50/50 or would you push for the most you could get?

And unless Floyd comes out of retirement and is desperate to fight Brook, Khan is Brook's money fight. He'll make a lot more with a 60/40 split in a stadium against Khan than going back to Sheffield Arena for fights against the likes of Dan and Bizier.

Quite possibly, but in boxing because the paydays are so big for major showdowns, fighters spend far too long jostling for the best deal.

In UFC, the overall cards tend to be stacked, and they are rarely relying on a single person to carry the event (McGregor is something of an exception here due to his fan base) - and so if fighters turn their noses up at opportunities, then the event just goes ahead anyway without them. UFC's model is much more about the overall package. You've generally got 10 fights of which at least 70% are very competitive, it's a good value product.

If Khan and brook do fight, the undercard will almost certainly be garbage, because there's so little money left after the fighters have their demands met, and the promoter's, network and distribution platform have taken their share.

apologies Jimmy, I'm failing to understand what the point you are trying to make is regarding the Brook/Khan fight?

You can go back and forward with that argument all day.
This will be the best payday either man can get, end of.
It's a meaningless argument throwing it at one fighter (as Khan is trying to do)

It's patently not a fifty fifty fight though. Khan has the profile which makes this the fight it is.

My point is this, Brook v Khan is a fight that should happen, but because of the nature of boxing, and the fact fighters are always looking to squeeze as much money out of the event as possible, we have to endure months and months of horseshit before we actually get a fight, if indeed we do ever get one, it's one of the things that makes me like UFC more, is that you don't have to wade through so much crap, more often than not, the very big fights do happen, and you don't get years of posturing between two big names.

Lesnar v Fedor would have been the biggest MMA fight of all time. As much chance of that happening as Lewis Bowe sadly. And with the rise in complaints from people within UFC about how much fighters are paid it's only a matter of time before we see factions develop and fights going the same way as boxing.

That said, boxing fans have a way of overstating this problem. Most massive fights end up happening; there's just too much money involved.

with the rise of Conor McGregor the tide is turning Jimbo.
People have to realise there value and get what they are worth.
As an outsider looking at Khan vs. Brook, I see that commercially this isn't a 50/50 fight and any other honest spectator will say the same.
Khan brings much more to the table than Brook it is simply a fact.
Frampton/Quigg got over the line at 60/40.
65/35 in Khans favour gets this fight over the line today I reckon...

GGG is bigger than Khan.

It's the rivalry and the interest and the anticipation of a long awaited grudgematch that makes this the bout it is.

2 top British fighters in an exciting match up.

Khan is the bigger name but he doesn't make this fight the spectacle it is

True, but he's also a bit of a laughing stock on social media. And Brook has title.
