Dokes, Witherspoon, The Truth, Berbick, Page, Pinklon, etc.

All above average 80s Heavyweights over Povetkin.

Povetkin was beaten once, and he's 37 -- Dokes was beaten many times and the crackhead was even smacked out by ridiculous Ruddock... A prime Dokes was knocked out by the ridiculously easy to beat Gerrie Coetzee... Povetkin would have flattened Coetzee in the 1st round... Coetzee was a smaller version of Robert Helenius... Helenius flattened Peter, Brewster, and Liakhovich---but was knocked kicking by the super hittable Duhaupas in Finland, his back yard... Povetkin crushed Duhaupas, Takam, and Perez, all who would have knocked little Dokes out.. Dokes was a little fk with no chin, who was stopped often.. Povetkin was never stopped and he's 37 -- well past his prime.

What makes you think it would be easy? At his best, Dokes was bigger and better than Marco Huck who gave Povetkin all he could handle.

Do you think that was Pov at his best? Just a year earlier he was lackluster and failed to stop journeyman Nicolai Firtha, but now he's KTFOing durable guys who titilists like Wilder and Parker couldnt drop (Parker never even hurt Takam).

Incidentally, how do people think Pov's pre-Wlad opposition compares to Wilder's?

I think that early version of Povetkin was as good technically as he is now. But now he is in better physical conditions. As for power, he always had a good one - Teke Oruh and Cedrick Boswell knockouts were sick. As for his performance against Firtha - yes, it was disappointing and he didn't look as powerful as he looks now, but then again did Lennox Lewis look like a power puncher against jorneyman Levi Billups, who was brutally KTFO'ed multiple times in 1-2 rounds and had 6 early KO losses (10 KO losses in total)?

Dokes was good. He gave Holyfield all he could handle and Dokes really got knocked out from Holyfield's head.

Dokes was done when he fought Holyfield.. It was all fluff.. I knew he'd be stopped easy. He would have been a good fighter if he wasn't a crack head.

Holyfield-Tyson 1 was more interesting for me... Holyfield looked strong, toned, fit, confident, and really excited... He was ready to tear some ass up.

Chagaev was pretty much comparable to the current Pulev, just a different style, the other guys were less or more comparable to Wilder his opponents, just a different time era, there are currently more top contenders availeble, in Povetkin his time it was this, or Klitschko pretty much, nothing in between.
Takam was and is better as anyone Wilder ever fought in my opinion, but he's not in your list.

In my opinion his stamina has allways been awesome, his strength just wasn't anyway near what it currently is. I'm surprised his weight barely gained in fact.

Povetkin has actually lost a little weight, which is a good thing.

Just moticed, but all Povetkin's opponents listed (beside Wawrzyk) are actually cruisers...or short heawies, like Chagaev.

He lost some fat and gained more muscules. I agree that his stamina was great even when he wasn't in such a good shape as he is now (excpt of Marco Huck fight), but as for his power, I think he always hit hard. Not on Wladimir's level, but he always had very solid power. Just look at KOs in Oruh and Boswell fights.
