Abel Sanchez, trainer for IBF, IBO, WBC, WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs), pays no attention to the countless fighters who are challenging GGG on social media outlets like Twitter and Facebook.
There have been countless challenges from fighters from junior middleweight to super middleweight, but according to Sanchez - nearly none of them pick up the phone to call Golvokin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.
Sanchez points out that too many fighters waste their time arguing with Golovkin and his team members on social media, instead of contacting Loeffler to negotiate a fight.
"All we can do is just continue to fight the best available guy. Everybody seems to talk like they want to talk Golovkin but all they do it talk, there’s no calling Tom Loeffler. You can’t make a fight on Twitter or on Facebook, you have to make the fight by calling the promoter and having their promoters call Tom and negotiate and make a fight, instead of arguing over it on social media, which does nobody any good. Golovkin is ready whoever but it’s just that those guys talking need to step up to the plate," Sanchez told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
Usually Sanchez goes on with himself, but I believe him.

During the post-fight interview of the Monroe Jr. bout, with HBO's Max Kellerman, GGG said that he'd fight Andre Ward (after being asked if he was willing to face the American). Did Tom Loeffler subsequently contact the S.O.G.'s promoter and manager to try to make the fight?Ruthless-RKO wrote:There have been countless challenges from fighters from junior middleweight to super middleweight, but according to Sanchez - nearly none of them pick up the phone to call Golvokin's promoter, Tom Loeffler of K2 Promotions.
Less than a year ago, the K2 boss denied ever approaching Andre Ward’s handlers.
I assume Abel Sanchez must have forgotten about this when he complains about other fighters doing things that Team GGG have done themselves.
