He'd have to put a bit extra work in than normal, though.

Certainly some cute moves and a very crafty right hand.

It's actually true!

He didn't seem too impressed overall with Joshua. He likes his power and said he's looked great coming forward against the guys he's fought but that he'd love to have fought him. No headmovement, very stiff. He actually did a little Tyson peek a boo bob/weave whilst talking about Joshua's lack of movement, he called me brother and gave me a hug. Highlight of my trip by a mile :TU:
nice!

I actually felt Joshua was more or less punch perfect this year. Forget the title, for the number of fights he's had the three KOs ofAmerican contenders and fringe contenders are exactly what he should be doing.

Actually like his athleticism and while his opponents produced very little, partly because he had them out of position, when they actually did something is when he took them out. In particular Martin and Molina, when they came forward is when Joshua landed with most conviction with fight ending power.

I like the way he's throwing his left hook, has a Holyfield look to it. Certainly he needed a bit better test than he got admittedly.

Obviously watching a different fight.. Conmentators are biased to Lewis and saying he's done.. One big punch from Vitali abc it would of been over.. Don't let bias get in the way of the truth.. So many people just buy into boxing Hype not many have their own opinions.. Too many sheep not enough shepherds
If someone has a different ( and imo completely accurate ) opinion to yours, resort to insults and blame officials/commentary bias?

Lewis took everything Vitali had that night and was still standing upright and firing back with just as many punches. It showed Vitali didn't hit as hard as some like to think. That along with not being able to stop old man Briggs doesn't sit too well on his record. A record with no real victory over a level B heavyweight on it, let alone A level.
Could it be that Samuel Peter or Chris Arreola are Vitali's best wins? It's a shame he never got to face anything like an elite heavy after old man Lewis. Would have cleared up a lot of these questions about how good he might have been.
I've always fancied a few names in modern heavyweight history would give Vitali all he could handle. Thomas, Ruddock, Mercer being a handful of names. I could easily see Vitali dropping a decision or two against such fighters, prime for prime.
I think you need to go away and watch it again.. Lewis was not throwing anywhere near the same amount as punches as Vitali.. People are sheep when it comes to boxing. They don't have their own opinions it's the same as commentary or promoters.. Just got to look at the Kovalev v Ward fight terrible commentary here most fought Ward one whereas on the US most people believe Kovalev won..

oh I see, so Ali lost to foreman as well did he? Cos George won most the rounds til he got stopped.

I think you will find that the bloke with an 8 inch vagina on his face that forced the TKO LOST.

FACT IS VITALI LOST. L IN THE RIGHT HAND COLUMN LOST. HISTORY SHOWS US HE LOST. HE ALSO LOST OT CHRIS BYRD, HE QUITE LOST AGAIN, TWO LOSSES FACT.

To dispute this is pure folly and the conjecture of idiots.

Bottom line is Lewis was past his best and still won. Doesn't bode well for prime Klitschko against prime Lewis.

It was a great slugfest though!

It was, Lewis just went for it, and disregarded what was coming back.

Vitali landed more, but Lewis' shots were far more significant, it was clear that Lewis was struggling a bit with his timing, due to inactivity and age, so he resorted to just going hell for leather, it was not what Lewis would have done in his prime, but he figured he had to try and get Vitali out of there.

Lewis was visibly rocked in second round after Vitali's big shots (actually ring bell possibly saved Lewis from imminent knock out). Before the cut Lewis really didn't look to have momentum to win. The cut made things equal because Vitali visibly became more hesitant. In addition he lost some of his visibility. It's testimony of his ability that he was able to box remaining rounds 2-2 despite being seriously handicapped. If rematch would have taken place Vitali would have been clear favorite.

What comes to Mercer he gave Lennox one helluva fight but was crushed by Wladimir.

Except Lennox Lewis
Including Lewis, Lewis was the luckiest men alive ever to cut him, not once, but even twice! That's a once in a lifetime amount of luck in one fight. It's like the way Chelsea won the champions league. It's like the way Denmark became European champion, just like Greece. It was similar like Vitali his only other loss. Also note that Vitali still was 100% alert at the end of the fight, he could have won a game of chess right after the match.

I don't give 2 f*cks about Soccer/Football so no I don't get the Soccer/Football references. Doesn't change my view on Lennox and Vitali.

Bottom line: It was the last fight of Lennox's career. If ever he was vulnerable to be beaten on any given night of his career, it was THAT night. Vitali didn't beat him, and if Vitali didn't beat him THAT night then Vitali just couldn't beat him.

The list of sitting ducks Vitali couldn't knock over always makes for amusing reading. Happy to recycle it for the umpteenth time if need be. He'd be in trouble against the better fighters.

Wait, he actually was in trouble against the two better fighters he fought!

On the Lennox Lewis fight with Vitaly- I think some people are forgetting that Lewis had said it would be his last fight before the fight took place— so it’s not as though he didn’t fancy the rematch because he thought it too tough

Been watching a bit of Tyson lately, watched his 1st 3 fights after beating Berbick, he fought Smith, Thomas and Tucker and all were poor showings from Mike
