WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
if the fight were made today, who wins?
Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
Not a big Wilder fan but I think he'd box sensibly enough to keep Parker away at the start and then start to take over in the second half of the fight. Not sure that Parker is great at cutting off the ring and seems fairly open defensively. Wilder by either late stoppage or an 8-4 type decision imo.

Parker is too open; I'd take Wilder

Probably Wilder. He could use the jab and stay away from Parker's power. Parker barely beat Ruiz who seems like he's on about the same level as Molina and Duhaupas.
I think Wilder loses to Joshua or Ortiz, though.

Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
I'd say it's a 55:45 fight in Wilder's favour at the moment. Parker has faster hands and more varied offense, but Wilder has better mobility and a reach advantage he could use to jab Parker from the outside. Combine his long right hand with Parker's leaky defense and Wilder would have a good shot at a KO, although Parker's chin seems pretty good.
Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
Wilder quite comfortably. Probably second half knockout.
Parker's defence is FAR too open, and Wilder is a big hitter. Very high KO rate. Parker gets hit very often in fights, and I'm not sure how many big shots he could take from Wilder. Parker's last few fights has made me question his power, or his ability to get good power on his opponent. He failed to wobble Ruiz or Takam, where I think Wilder knocks out either.

Wilder would win right now... That's not to say he'll win when they actually fight... which probably won't be for years.
Parker needs a coach... His defense is terrible... His footwork is horrible... His conditioning and strength training are real good -- and that's about it.

Parker needs to give Andy Ruiz Jr a rematch.
Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
Wilder for me. Too big, too powerful...
Parker's fight against Andy Ruiz shows us that he's not savy enough to avoid punches.
Wilder would eventually lower the boom.

If fatass Ruiz could trouble Parker as much as he did I figure Wilder bombs him out.

My excuse, I thought first Holy won, then Lewis, but the first one was a draw.jezzamundo wrote:Lewis was the WBC champion, Holyfield held the IBF and WBA belts.asdfjkl wrote:Evander Holyfield, from Lennox Lewismistersaintlaurent wrote:Can anybody think of any example of the WBC heavyweight champion losing to the champion of another organization?
Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
Kevin Barry got Parker so far but Parker needs to get more experiance against tough opposition to become better before wilder who is alot more seasoned

I don't think that's the case. Somebody has already pointed out one example where another Champion took the WBC title.mistersaintlaurent wrote:very true. but i do think throughout history it's happened several times and the WBC champion has never lost?gilgamesh wrote:It's been a while since the WBC Heavyweight Champion fought the Champion of another organizationmistersaintlaurent wrote:Can anybody think of any example of the WBC heavyweight champion losing to the champion of another organization?

Re: WHO WINS? Deontay Wilder vs. Joseph Parker
From what I can tell since the inception of the WBC Heavyweight title it's rarely ever been defended against a Champion from another organization. Deontay Wilder is certainly not a WBC Champion that can't be beaten by other titleholders in the division if that's what you're trying to suggest. I'm not sure.mistersaintlaurent wrote:but the example they listed was incorrect and they've already stated they had their facts wrong.gilgamesh wrote:I don't think that's the case. Wilder needs a name opponent of some kind.
