Rematches that were better than the previous fights

A lot of people get pumped right up for return fights but I can never seem to get up for them myself,i am looking forward to Frampton/Santa Cruz and Linares/Crolla but its never the same for me,there has been some decent 2nd,3rd,4th etc fights but there aren't many times they bettered the 1st fight

TBH a lot of the 3rd/4th fights from the ones mentioned above maybe could have surpassed the 1st fight but not so much the 2nd fight

Pac vs Marquez 4 I'd say is the best of their series. Though it's certainly debatable.

I'll have to think a little more on it. I know there are surely more that would apply.

I thought about Patterson/Johannson after I posted this thread but I'm still not so sure it was better than the 1st fight,Spinks/Holmes and Monzon/Valdez rematches weren't too dissimilar to their 1st fights IMO

Duran/De Jesus i'll agree with though definitely and Tunney/Demsey is a great shout,ive only ever seen Zale/Graziano 3 but by all accounts the 1st 2 fights were barnstormers

Some of the old timers are still around who saw those fights live.. but I'm not one of them.. I used to collect old fights in the 60's and some you could get at the library.. But I saw the Zale-Graziano series in a movie theater as a 10 year old in the 1950's.. I knew who won already but the atmosphere was like an actual live fight -- just like fans reported when they watched re-runs of Ali-Frazier 1 in theaters.

I don't know why, but the only decent Zale-Graziano fight you get nowadays on Youtube is the 3rd fight.. It's real good quality and the other 2 suck wind.. And that's only fight of the trilogy I've ever seen when they show classic fights on TV for the last 40 years.

You can find a (very bad) copy of the first fight in NY - so bad it almost impossible to watch - but like you suggest, certainly not shown in the theaters; it looks to be private.

Yeah, I've seen it. It's shot from way back in the stands by a spectator and while historically very cool, it's hardly usable to gauge the fight. It think it's safe to say that if quality film had existed it would have surfaced by now. The fight certainly was not shown in theaters 10 years after it happened. It was not shown live on TV or closed circuit and it was not officially taped. The crystal clear conclusion is that Kalan lied.

If anyone ever doubted your BS before (which I wouldn't know why they would) they certainly shouldn't now. There is no video footage of the 1st and 2nd fights. You're obviously lying.

Why stop there. Why not tell us all how much better the 3rd Harry Greb vs Gene Tunney fight was than the first 2. There's no video footage of any Greb fight of course, but hey...don't let the facts stop you. You never have before.
