The Scousers have gone all quiet (for once) - maybe it is Giro day or something (only joking ... :TU: ).

Seriously though if Boomer or one of his mates have dug this up from 5 years ago to get some extra publicity then he is an absolute disgrace and need pulling on it.

I remember when that guy Ken Bigley got his head chopped off by ISIS and “the whole city was in mourning”…. How daft. Boris Johnson then got slated for calling them out on it (i.e. just saying what everyone outside Liverpool was thinking).

The Sun’s reporting on Hillsborough was clearly awful, but holding a city-wide grudge against a newspaper after all these years……
Wasn't he killed more than a decade before ISIS even came into existence?
Well one of the forerunner groups to ISIS then.... you get the picture.

After Heysel a Belgian FA official and police chiefs faced charges.

Hillsborough hadn't had a safety certificate for years and South Yorkshire police altered over 200 statements.
The Liverpool fans caused it. Half of them will readily admit it. Ok, it could have been handled better, but if they could've behaved, it wouldn't have happened.
There was a lot of causes:
Antiquated turnstiles not working properly
60 turnstiles for Forest fans, 23 for Liverpool
Turnstiles kept shut to herd all the Liverpool fans into one area
Poor signage
Crush barriers had been removed
Rookie police commander

The Taylor report of 89/90 and then the 2 year inquest 14/16 make a nonsense of your claims.

I think he's talking about Heysel not Hillsborough. If not he needs to get himself an education.

What are your thoughts on Boomer apparently exploiting the victims for his own financial gain?

It is a dire rag that peddles hate and hostility, intolerance and division. It covers political and religious issues so insensitively and inaccurately. Itscoverage of state cover-ups like hillsborough and bloody sunday to name but two is enough to boycot the rubbish for eternity. Too many misguided people are influenced and "educated" by the utter pollution that that paper churn-outs.

Cringing...it's surely the worst thread on boxrec right now!

Bellew ranting and moaning about a photo taken five years ago where Haye is merely showing that he beat Del Boy. Anti-scouse silliness and embarrassing pro-scouse ( I'm loving the 'picked on the wrong people' line though, in a cringeworthy thread, that's up there mate! ) bollocks thrown in for good measure. Bellew is a grade A wanker...stop the press!

Let's get back to the boxing chat eh? Leave all this wank to twitter divs :TU:

Cringe all you like I couldn't give a fornicate. I'm happy the families and their supporters got the outcome they did after a lifetime of fighting.

Clued in spurs fans know the score, it nearly happened to them at hillsborough too, thankfully it didn't.

I think people will only understand the hatred and hositility that many have towards that rag if you are part of one of the voiceless minority groups that the Scum has tried to vilify.

The paper has a demented and insatiable appetite to want to twist facts so as to fit its narrative. Its unrelenting hypocracy would be laughable if only it wasnt covering such serious issues.

That paper sells on the ignorance of its readership.

Bellew's anger shows a level of insight that many just dont comprehend as they cant relate to it. To lots of people, the Scum isn't just a newspaper. It has dragged the names of innocent dead people through the mud. Just imagine if your dead family members were so publicly abused and vilified and yet they were completely innocent of any wrong doing? It isnt just the city of Liverpool where there are feelings of hatred towards that newspaper.

I think most people can understand the hatred of the paper. I lived there for years and would never have dreamed of buying it.

However, the big question is why is Bellew exploiting something Haye did years ago that had nothing to do with Liverpool just to boost ppv sales. That isn't him showing anger, that's him showing he's prepared to do anything to make a few quid.

That's all fine, and I agree it's a terrible newspaper, I wouldn't even read a free copy on the train. But this entire thing with Haye just reeks of Bellew trying to start an issue that just doesn't exist. It seems exploitative.

I know the score and I, along with every football fan and decent person in general was chuffed when justice ( of sorts ) prevailed.

It's true it almost happened to Spurs when playing Wolves. Talk about ignore the warning signs. It can be said it did happen to Spurs in a way too, it was 95 Liverpool fans and 1 Tottenham. Little known fact that. Not that it matters who the fans supported. It was a tragedy and what followed was a disgrace.

Still, my point stands about this thread. Nothing to do with boxing at this point and it was all brought about by Bellew being a complete pudendum and trying to cause trouble. Proper dog move by him imo, zero class.

That is an assumption on your part.

The other possibility is that Bellew is genuinely principled, and is passionate about what the Scum stands for. That photograph of Haye with the paper may only recently have been brought to Bellew's attention. I know we live in a cynical world but perhaps that picture of Haye with that deplorable paper has genuinely hit a raw nerve with Bellew.

Yeah, perhaps that photo taken years ago and not directed at him in any way genuinely touched a nerve with tony bellew a fighter who just so happens to manufacture a 'beef' before every fight.

The "embarrassing pro-scouse" only starts when people try and take the piss. I have no problem with people thinking Bellew is over reacting to this considering the picture may have been old, but when you see some of the sly digs from a number of posters it's difficult to read without saying anything mate.

Cynic!

I honestly can't see any interpretation of this situation other than Bellew attempting to create animosity out of nothing. Even if he had just found out, and he was offended by the photo why would he discuss it in public? He's surely intelligent enough to understand it's just a picture of Haye celebrating his win over Chisora rather than a slight against the people of Liverpool? No one is that stupid, are they?

Rise above it. Why bother arguing with idiots who probably do get it and are just looking for a rise? Life's too short.
