I didn't see the fight, but literally every fan I've seen comment on it believes Perez deserved the decision over Hooker so that's probably it.

I saw it I'd say one of the worst decisions I have seen in 40 years.

I thought the worst robbery was when the guy went into the 7-11 convenience store, laid a $20 bill on the counter asking for change. When the clerk opened the cash register, the guy said "give me all the money" with his finger poking under his shirt pretending it was a gun. The clerk did what was asked, and handed the money to the robber. When the robber was caught down the street, he had 15 one dollar bills on him. (left the $20 on the counter) So, was it technically a robbery if he left more money than he stole?

The guy had no I.D. on him, only the initials asdfjkl printed on his shirt.

Kovalev-Ward was the worst -- because it was the biggest fight of the year and 1 of the truly elite fights ever staged in Boxing... The verdict damaged Boxing's credibility... The commission appointed 3 American judges and an American referee to a fight where a dispersed international group of officials is needed...I felt Kovalev would have to win the fight by 5 rounds and that's the way it turned out.

Kovalev landed more punches in more rounds -- landed harder punches -- drove Ward to the ropes many times -- carried the fight most of the way -- scored a hard knockdown in a round he dominated -- and you had the unusual situation where all 4 officials: the 3 judges and the referee were all Americans -- in Kovalev''s pervious fight the Russian commission appointed the 3 judges and referee from neutral countries -- all 4 of them.

Ali is dead too bro -- and he looked dead on his feet in some of his losses didn't he??? ... Particularly vs Leon Stinks... Stinks was a Flyweight Compared to Wilt Chamberlain and was flattened by every top Heavyweight he ever fought except Ali ... because Leon had 1/20th the athletic ability of Chamberlain, Statistically, Chamberlain was the most dominant athlete in the history in any sport -- and Wilt is a HOF athlete in more than 1 sport.

I don't see how anybody calls it close... If you score the same number of punches and each boxer is equally aggressive.. and nobody gets knocked down, then you can say it was close.. If one boxer is more aggressive, chases his opponent to the ropes many times and lands better and more punches.. and scores a solid knockdown.. They were looking for rounds to give to Ward.. That's how you get robberies.

There's "robberies". And there's giving a fighter a win in a close fight. Kovalev was NOT "robbed". He was beatenin a close fight. Most people that think Kovalev was robbed are casual fans that don't appreciate "the sweet science".

You're an idiot and a casual fan at best... The sweet science allows you to jab with greater power and precision and less effort...and drive your opponent to the ropes... The sweet science allows you to time your opponent's rushes and deck him with a power punch... The sweet science isn't about grabbing, wrestling, pushing, using your shoulders and head for leverage, and landing muffled body shots that are having no effect... Ward fought a dirty fight -- not a scientific fight.

I think it was a close fight. It could've gone either way. ALL the judges thought it was a close fight too!... So, out of me, you and 3 men that are paid to judge these bouts. You need to understand the difference between 'throwing' punches and actually 'landing' punches champ. Kovalev dominated the first 3 rounds, yes. But after that Ward outdone him with cleaner punches. Just because a fighter throws more punches, doesn't mean he should be favoured by the judges.
