Bellew ranting and moaning about a photo taken five years ago where Haye is merely showing that he beat Del Boy. Anti-scouse silliness and embarrassing pro-scouse ( I'm loving the 'picked on the wrong people' line though, in a cringeworthy thread, that's up there mate!) bollocks thrown in for good measure. Bellew is a grade A wanker...stop the press!

Re: The Sun and Scouse Boxers
No I get it, it's a very emotive issue for some people. But there will always be people wanting to wind people up based on that stuff. I do believe Bellew is being manipulative here, I just don't think he's as stupid as he'd need to be to take offence at that photo, and to translate that photo into a slight on people from Liverpool? Nah, he's playing the game here for me.ElJefe wrote:Easier said than done but you're right to be fair.TheDarkDestroyer wrote:Rise above it. Re: The Sun and Scouse Boxers
Why dont you message Tony Bellew on social media and ask him to explain it to you? And whilst you are there ask Paul Smith what he thinks about that picture and Haye's association with that rag. And then ask Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher and Kenny Dalglish... I think you will find that Bellew isnt the only one who is unimpressed with Haye.Counter-puncher wrote:Yeah, perhaps that photo taken years ago and not directed at him in any way genuinely touched a nerve with tony bellew a fighter who just so happens to manufacture a 'beef' before every fight.
What has the age of the photo got to do with anything? And do you really not understand how someone so aloof like Haye advertising a toxic product like the Scum, which has caused such distress to the people of Liverpool may have offended a Liverpudlian?
Re: The Sun and Scouse Boxers
I would love to ask their opinion of a boxer who posed with a picture of them winning a fight. I bet they wouldn't have the same reaction as Bellew. Do you know if Haye is even aware of the controversy with the Sun and the Hillsborough disaster? I imagine those people you mention would be intelligent enough to be measured in their response as they don't know Haye's intentions, he could and is likely just ignorant to the issues that some people have with the paper.liamlion wrote:Why dont you message Tony Bellew on social media and ask him to explain it to you? I honestly can't see any interpretation of this situation other than Bellew attempting to create animosity out of nothing. Even if he had just found out, and he was offended by the photo why would he discuss it in public? He's surely intelligent enough to understand it's just a picture of Haye celebrating his win over Chisora rather than a slight against the people of Liverpool? No one is that stupid, are they?

Wasn't suarez interviewed by the sun and sourness? Both people who are extremely aware of the situation more than Haye when he did his photo after beating a fellow Londoner.

The habitual whiners perpetuating a grudge from a generation ago will always find offence. You're right to say Liverpool isn't always on people's radar but these self obsessed moaners can't fathom such a situation.freddydoesdallas wrote:

Suarez gave an interview to a freelancer who then sold it on, the sun then claimed it as their own exclusive. It wasn't the first time that had happened.freddydoesdallas wrote:Is anyone who poses for a photo or story in the sun offending the campaign and the city?liamlion wrote:Why dont you message Tony Bellew on social media and ask him to explain it to you? Souness gave them an exclusive in what was possibly the most illl judged decision a man in his situation could make. He regrets it to this day.

Im not bellew biggest fan and to bring this up to get ppl against haye is a sh1tbags trick,u dont bring whats been brought up to sell a few more ppv and to get yhe whole city on your side, earlier i slated haye before seeing the pic and i hope haye absolutely destroys bellew within 3 rounds but i hope he makes the 3 rounds very hurtful.bripez wrote:What are your thoughts on Boomer apparently exploiting the victims for his own financial gain?thechump wrote:another sad case of a human mocking the dead, this country is going to the dogsLoftgroov wrote:Scousers love victimhood.
I remember when that guy Ken Bigley got his head chopped off by ISIS and “the whole city was in mourning”…. How daft. Boris Johnson then got slated for calling them out on it (i.e. just saying what everyone outside Liverpool was thinking).
The Sun’s reporting on Hillsborough was clearly awful, but holding a city-wide grudge against a newspaper after all these years……

Re: The Sun and Scouse Boxers
Sorry freddy i wasnt meaning you i was meaning captaindikrod,im absolutley fumin about bellew bringing a paper from 5 years ago into his fight build up now trying to gather a hate campaign against haye. Bellew cant sell tickets look at goodison he has a fight there gets the smiths on and masher dodd(who is a massive ticket seller) and still cant do 20,000 tickets. Bellend thinks he is better than what he isfreddydoesdallas wrote:I'm not bothered about the boycott. What I don't get is why you're not pissed off at bellew for exploiting this boycott to sell a few more ppv's as this Haye picture has absolutely nothing to do with Liverpool or offending the Jf96 campaign

Turn it in mate seriously can you not see how ridiculous the above is? As I and a lot of others have posted on here I have no issue with the boycott of the Sun and think its commendable in truth, and don't read it myself. But of course the bloody age of the photo has something to do with it!!!! So Haye shouldn't have taken that pic with the Sun years ago in case he in the latter part of his career he fought someone from Liverpool???!!! Absolutely ridiculous. I don't know if it still is but the Sun was the biggest selling paper in the country - Haye goes where the money its that simple, he's not been brought up in an area that boycotts the paper and has very limited interest in football. Do you honestly get upset with everyone who reads the Sun? Surely you do your boycott and that is that if other people want to buy it more fool them.
There are lots of things I choose not to do but I don't feel the need to dictate to everyone else what they should or shouldn't e.g I'm not the biggest fan of the Mirror which published photos of British soldiers supposedly mistreating Iraqi POWS that turned out to be fake. I don't hate Barry Mcguigan who I believe used to write a feature in there or Bellew because he's appeared in there (I'm assuming).
I genuinely thought the one thing people might all agree on in this thread after lots of nonsense was spoken, was that Bellew was a complete pudendum for stooping to those sort of levels to sell a fight some things really are not necessary and should have been left alone.

I'm more upset with the Michael Shields comments. Ok, he got tied to the radiator for 24 hours and locked up for years, but anyone would think he was Terry Waite.

David haye and the pic in paper
So according to tony bellew david haye has been disrespectful with this pic of the paper no one buys on merseyside,i live on merseyside and am a die hard liverpool fan and,to me,david haye wasnt mocking anyone with this shot,it was after the derek chisora fight and the event was sponsored by the paper, this is tony bellews ploy to get everyone on merseyside to turn on haye,im not buying into it and hope haye splats bellew for insulting all of us and bringing up the disaster to try and get him more exposure for his fight, tony fck off and promote ur fight with dignity and stop bringing crap up that has nothing to do with u and ur fight
