Carlos Ortiz vs. Al Duarte

I thought that early in his pro career the great Carlos Ortiz fought New England journeyman Al Duarte in Boston on October 29, 1955. Result: a 4th-round knockout.

Boxrec.com database shows this fight as being between Al Duarte and SOME OTHER Carlos Ortiz--not the famous lightweight/junior welterweight.

Why do you think that that that bout wasn't with the REAL Carlos Ortiz? Ortiz did fight in the Boston area exactly two weeks later!

You are correct that the bout belongs to the well known former 135 lb champ. Apparently it had been attached to the Panamanian Carlos Ortiz at one point, and had not been hooked up to the correct boxer.
