On one of the local promotions they use a northern lad who can really motor, I've seen him in the gym, and he just takes a fall fight after fight! He's got it down to a fine art. The local ticket sellers he fights have no idea that he'd splatter them if he put it on them.mickey1975 wrote:Most of the unlicensed is crap, but there's the odd "ringer". Chump is a great guy, really looking out for the people.Taansend wrote:I think Chump wants a ban on alcohol. That makes people act the way he described.
Don't most people who want to take drugs just take them? Who is put off being a druggy because it's against the law?
Most people don't want to take crack cocaine, meth or heroin and making it legal isn't going to change many people's minds.

Re: Johnny Armour jailed
There is a heavyweight who does that up here. He's out two or three times a week. Told me he's never even been buzzed, but he's had some dramatic falls. The guy I was on about is a relation, and only young. He wouldn't know how to take a dive. I wouldn't let him anyway. I thought we were going to get lynched when he put it on the home guy. The bloke bit him! Afterwards, in the car park, the bloke was stood apologising to his mates, I went over and told him, "don't worry, he's a very good kid". Just need to get some dedication into him and off the weed and we will take him pro. He handled pros easy in the gym. Handled everyone ok on the Yorkshire squad at Sheffield IOS. Like I say, felt a bit wrong when he did unlicensed but it was his decision.lillywhite14 wrote:On one of the local promotions they use a northern lad who can really motor, I've seen him in the gym, and he just takes a fall fight after fight! £150-200. My guy wouldn't dream of it. Got another, a travelling lad of international standard who'll go box anywhere at the drop of a hat.

Virtually nobody who abuses coke doesn't also drink alcohol, in fact 99 times out of 100, alcohol is the catalyst for wanting to do any coke in the first place. Coke might add fuel to the fire, but it's alcohol that starts the fire in the first place.Taansend wrote:I think Chump wants a ban on alcohol. Most people don't want to take crack cocaine, meth or heroin and making it legal isn't going to change many people's minds.
In countries where drugs have been decriminalised, drug use, and more importantly drug related health issues and deaths have both fallen pretty dramatically.
Re: Johnny Armour jailed
We will have to agree to disagree,my reasons behind this is i know a few lads who go on the lash have a few lines through the night which sobers them up then carry on drinking. Iv never touched coke before so i dont know what the attraction is im just saying what iv seen with my own eyesjamesmcdonnell wrote:Virtually nobody who abuses coke doesn't also drink alcohol, in fact 99 times out of 100, alcohol is the catalyst for wanting to do any coke in the first place. And what countries have legalised crack, coke, heroin? If your talking about the netherlands its not legal to walk down the street with its just legal to smoke weed in a designated cafejamesmcdonnell wrote:I'm afraid the evidence completely contradicts what you are saying.thechump wrote:Yes horse you are right ppl will take drugs no matter what but i bet there would be alot more taking them if they legal.Horse wrote:Chump is a great guy, really looking out for the people.

Re: Johnny Armour jailed
Eh? You're just reaffirming my point! I've been doing coke 20 odd years, and I can only think of less than a handful of occasions where I didn't drink before I did it. I have probably done coke 1000 times over the years. I'm on the wagon for January and I can assure you, without booze coke has zero appeal for the vast majority. If you look at what has happened in Portugal since decriminalisation of drug use, it's clear that making things illegal does nothing to control their use.thechump wrote:We will have to agree to disagree,my reasons behind this is i know a few lads who go on the lash have a few lines through the night which sobers them up then carry on drinking. He's been away before yeah. He's always been a nice bloke but who seems to attract the absolute divs of the area. When he was fighting he kept them at arm stage length mainly. Lots of hangers on.Coco wrote:I'm sure this isn't the first time armour has been in jail
When he was fighting he was labouring too. Seemed to get disillusioned with the amount of dough he didn't make from the game. The Ampofo fights were his only real earners I believe.
