Duhaupas v Takam 5 weeks after Pov ko !!

Post by funso banjo baby »

listed for jan 28th - Duhaupas v Takam

I'm just surprised. Most top fighters struggle with two fights a year. Duhaupas takes on Takam just five weeks after getting iced by Povetkin.

its rare

Stupid in any era, after the horrible knockout duhaupas just had another fight that quickly is not a good idea. Shouldn't he have been medically suspended anyway?

Duhaupas is 36 yo, he'll take any fight he can before retirement. He didn't make real money before Wilder, so he will not pass over 150K$ vs Takam.

He'll go to 6 weeks training camp and will be fit and will not get hit as easily as vs Povetkin. And he'll have normal shoes also :OhYes:

A true warrior & I believe it's around 300000. He gets the majority of the purse bid split as he is defending an important WBC regional belt. This is not the first time he did this. He took the Charr fight 4 weeks after the 12 round slugfest with Erkan Teper & won that fight.

The total purse is 235,000 $! So, if 70% to Duhaupas (and I'm not sure), it's ~165,000 $.

Peanuts...and we are talking about top HW's :brick:

Credit to Duhaupas for being willing to take on tough opponents more so than the tough opponents he takes on.

Duhaupus and Takam are both warriors, but I worry a bit for the Frenchman that he is fighting someone like Takam so soon after such a brutal KO.

That said, I am sure there are many many journeymen who do the same thing week in week out. :verysad:

The fight between Johann Duhaupas and Carlos Takam, scheduled for January 28, for the first defense of his title of champion WBC "Silver" In the category of heavy goods vehicles, is postponed. Arrested until January 17, following his k.-o. Against the Russian Povetkin, as stipulated in the regulations, the Abbevillois must stay a month without taking blows, knowing that the promoter of the fight, Salvador Cherchi, did not give news. "The field of battle was not fixed, there was no television, says Mehdi Ameur, Duhaupas agent. We will postpone the fight in one or two months. It will happen but we do not know when, where and how. Everything depends on the promoter."

This fight is no longer on the boxrec schedule. Any sources indicating that it will take place in January are old sources. You should expect that this fight will probably get moved to February or March.

Give the credit to 500,000 $ he was paid vs Povetkin. More than for Wilder, Helenius and Takam togever :salut:
