Adonis Stevenson: I Want Three Fights in 2017 - Just Line Them Up!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis "Superman" Stevenson will be watching the February 24th battle between Eleider Alvarez (23-0) and Lucian Bute (32-3-1) with special interest.

The fight takes place at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Quebec. While Alvarez is already the mandatory challenger to Stevenson's title, the fight serves for all intents and purposes as a final eliminator.

Stevenson (28-1) only had one fight in 2016, a fourth round knockout out of Thomas Williams Jr. but plans on having a much more active 2017 campaign.

"I would like to fight the winner (of Alvarez-Bute) and I would like to fight three times this year. I plan on having a busy year," Stevenson stated.

As for Stevenson's preference, he said that he as always been willing to fight all comers. "I don't care who I fight. Line them up and I will fight them. I am the WBC and lineal champion. I am still the king. I don't care who I fight. Just line them up," Stevenson told BS.com. -

That's good if he fights 3 times 4 maybe if he has early KO's...

What would be good sense is to defend in Florida since he is Haitian & there are is a large Haitian population in Florida.

And it'll be either these guys or maybe Jean Pascal or someone less than that. Pascal has taken a lot of punishment over the years, and that fight would still be big in Canada so it may be one he'd consider.

I figure Bute and Pascal are who he pursues...even if Eleider Alvarez beats Bute he'd still prefer to fight him to Alvarez I'll bet.

But he might fight Pascal first just so as not to look QUITE as ridiculous.

To lose all three fights by knockout would be a miserable and frustrating year.

It'd be nice if the three opponents were Pascal, Kovalev & Ward!

OK, he probably beats Pascal, but he isn't beating SOG or The Krusher.

This Pimp Punk needs to just go away. He had his chance to cash in a couple of years ago with Kovalev but he bitched out of that one and now no one will pay anything remotely close to the figures discussed in that matchup. The guys almost 40 and he's not fought anyone in many years. Please don't tell me Williams was any good because the guy took a dive, plain and simple. No heart. Just like Adonis.
