Thought as internet buddies I'd give you the following tip to never leave any funds in your paypal account - get it out or risk losing it

That's a top tip and I always immediately withdraw the money out of my account after I receive a payment.

Beware of payment reversals!

But it seems that you end up with a PayPal overdraft if you don't have the funds in the account to cover the pay back. I wouldn't sell anything of any value through that set up, too many crooks about.

As I said, I don't deal in large amounts of money, and the money invariably goes straight into my bank account anyway. What I was more worried about was that they (the pricks that they are) can get direct into your bank account from the info they can get out of your paypal account.

btw - paypal has proved an absolute crock of bearocratic, automated reply, red taped-shit. I submitted the relevant form ie. suspected fraud e-mail etc. They sent back an automated response saying "is your problem a, b, or c." So I click on the c option, and they take me back to the original form page I submitted my query from

I'm dealing only in Turkish lira produced in 2007 from now on.

Just as an aside why was the original paypal thread locked?... there seems to be a spate of thread locking on these forums recently?... and for no aparemt reason...
Anyway, firstly my advise is never enter any site which asks you for your bank details etc... ebay will never do this so if you get an email asking for this sort of thing it is a scammer... I have had several along the same lines. Secondly I would advise people against using paypal anyway, through personal experience and the experience of others I have known I think paypal is not the fool proof method of payment that it is said to be, far from it... you are much safer either buying and selling via cheques or postal orders....

I have never had any probs with paypal before but today i recieved an e-mail informing me somebody had tried to access my account from a foreign IP addres.

Best keep a good look at it in future.

I sell a lot on ebay, and I get spoof emails all the time basically trying to fool me into thinking my account has been suspended, so that I enter my personal information for them.

Sometimes it's easy to notice, I mean the font might be different to that of the payapl or the ebay site. or if you follow their link, you may find that none of the links to other pages works.

if you have a yahoo email account chances are it'll go straight to your spambox. however some do sneak through

You can normally tell if it's genuine as it will have your name or your username at the top.
